Yes, the day is finally on us that we are now seeing orders for C school!
I understand for the FCs, C school can be located in:

1) Dam Neck, VA
2) Dalgren, VA
3) San Diego

I believe the location is determined by which system they will be operating on.

Do we know where C school is for our ETs?

Has your sailor been to C school yet? If so can you tell us which one? How long it lasted and did they get leave before starting C school or head directly there from A school?

Hey Ladies,
Thanks for the info Nancy. I was speaking with Kyle and read this post to him because I was curious what he was doing and this is what he said. He is working with the Aegis system and LHD computers & peripherals. So I guess Nancy's comment about Aegis only being at Dahlgren is not all together correct (from what Kyle is telling me anyway) and even though his C school is east coast he is going to be stationed in Sasebo so he has West coast orders. He said he kind of had his choice on duty station he got and two other sailors that are in C school with him now are going to duty stations in the U.S., one on the east coast and one on the west coast (I can't remember exactly the locations) He said one of the reasons he got Japan was because he is single and the other sailors must have requested state side because they had families. He also told me, that he was told that he may be going to more school after C school for another system he doesn't know what yet and he said it may be after he goes to Sasebo so he could be coming back to the States for further training but that is not completely set yet. He said they would be telling him more toward the end of his C school. So that is the info I have from him so far. I'll keep ya posted if I get more or think of any more questions to ask him.
I've been talking to a FC student at Dahlgreen and I think her class there is about eight months long and she has found that she is going to another C school as well. It really comes down to what systems they are working on.

My husband had C school in Mare Island, CA (no longer there) went to Japan for a couple of years and then they sent him to Dam Neck for a different system so that was a nice bonus...for both of us.
AEGIS system on an LHD? My son's on an LHD and this is the first I've ever heard of this. Now, there may be the potential of the computer system on the LHD communicating with the other AEGIS systems on the other ships that they go out with - perhaps? But after touring an LDH and for all the research I've done, and I'll check with my son again, but I don't believe there is any actual AEGIS system directly on any LHD's. If I find out different, I'll post.
I wonder if anything has changed lately about the information I posted back in April/May. Concerning some FC training for C school was going to be moved to Great Lakes directly after A school. This was a potential plan in the works, but no date set as to its implementation.
Are you hoping to keep Patrick in GL?!!! I have not heard anything about this and hoping my southern son will be out of there before the hardcore winter sets in again. His target date is Nov. 17th.
My son called me last night. I told him where the C schools were located. Does anyone know which weapons systems are located in these locations??
I think Aegis is in Dahlgreen, I'll try to do some homework on this and see if I can get an update on the different schools.
Yes, AEGIS is in Dahlgren. Some schools are in San Diego, like CWIS, Tomahawk, and some other fire control schools I believe. And then the rest are in Dam Neck and CIWS is one of those schools that is both east & west coasts.

And as far as what systems are at which schools, I had run across a website that lists all the FC schools that are at Dam Neck; but it doesn't really matter for a person until the orders are available to pick from; and at that point they will know where the school is. Whem my son picked c-school orders he said some picked schools just because they were in San Diego; which is a funny way of deciding your future, if you ask me. Unless it was for something like CIWS where getting a west coast school would more likely get you west coast orders.
Thanks for all the wonderful info.
Thanks, I will let Stephen know.
GL, Virginia, California. Doesn't really matter. 1012 miles for GL. 1358 Miles for Virginia, and San Diego 1600 miles. Its all Way too Far for me. But the winter? He says he likes the cold. We'll see.. he might be eating his words. Hey Pensacola's only 536. Is anything there? ha ha They didn't ask me...
Planning ahead CCR?!!! I think VA is closest for us but still a loooooog road between there and Atlanta. When is Patrick due to finish A school, I think he and Patrick are on the same time frame. Mid November here...another four months to go!
