Yes, We will be staying at the Ramada Waukegan/Gurnee on Greenbay Rd.
Maybe we will see each other. Those are the dates we will be there. Since we are driving, we will be stopping along the way on the 28th somewhere for the night.
Anyone getting letters or phone calls yet? If yes, what are you learning that you can share with the rest of us? I am still waiting for some communication with my "kid."
We got our letter yesterday, Monday, June 14. My daughter left for BC on June 8. We received the "I've arrived" call that night around 7p.m. We received her box on last Friday. Then yesterday the letter came. She is in Ship 12 Div 259. Her letter stated that her PIR date was July 30. This was much sooner than we had anticipated. This is all of the info. that we have, but its only been a week for us. I'm feeling pretty good so far about what we know. It will come. Do you have a "Newman" (Seinfeld) for a postman? LOL
Too funny!

Anticipating his first phone call, I will answer ANY unrecognizable phone number! Ha! Even tho I am on a "do not call" list for solicitors!
I received a phone call on last Wed around 3:45pm the letters are slow, when my daughter wrote she told me they held the letters then picked them all up at the same time, we recieved about 3 the same day.
Hello Mary, How did you find out your son is Grad-N-Go? I know my son is going to Pensacola for A school, is that Grad-N-Go? Wish we could drive up, flying up instead. Kyle's mom -T
My husband's PIR date is also the 30th. I am already so proud of him! Ship 4 Division 816. He's off to BUD/S after this. I am driving from south florida... so I am hardly looking forward to the 22 hours I have to spend in the car. But i would do it a thousand times over for him.
Our son is also PIR date of July 30th, we will be driving from south GA. long trip. We made resv. at Ramada. What is the Navy Lodge and where is it located?
I thought we were going to have a long drive...but I think you have us beat, dflem! We are driving from East TN. We plan to split the drive time up....leave Wed around noon.....then finish the trip up on Thurs. Is about 13 hours. I am advised to watch out for the never ending construction areas outside of Chicago.

Hey.....what kinds of things are you going to take to your recruit? I think it is only at the airport that they can receive their items. I plan to take: his cell phone/charger, camera, ipod, watch, laptop (which will be his PIR gift...I still haven't bought it....watching Best Buys deals). Who else?

Oh staying at Navy Lodge also. It is supposedly only 5 minutes from base. :)
We are staying at the Ramada Inn too. We should all try to have a get together for breakfast when we are there. That would be very nice.
The "meet n greet" sounds good to me. We plan to get there that afternoon. Meeting and Greeting is better than just sitting around Waiting and Wondering. We still have not received real letters yet. I had read something about phone calls on or around Mother's Day, so we were hopeful about a phone call on "Father's Day". It never came. I'm sure that it just hasn't been long enough.

My sister's kids are coming down from CT in about a week or so. (Ages 8-12) They will be staying with us for about 2 weeks. I've already planned out their itenerary (something fun everyday - but mostly free things). If anyone decides to come to Nashville, TN during the summer, I can give you a great list of things to do and places to go. Anyway, I am looking forward to their coming. We will be busy for those weeks. We all know keeping busy is the key.
