For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

HELLO, MY SON WILL GRADUATE JUL, 9TH ALSO. HAVE YOU HEARD FROM YOUR CHILD. I HAVEN'T GOTTEN A LETTER OR PHONE CALL FOR 23 DAYS.
ALL I HAVE RECEIVED WAS THE BOX AND NAVY FORM THAT IS IT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. HIS DIV. IS 237 SHIP 3 THANKS.

My son is also inDIV 237 ship 3 and I havent heard a thing. I did read on Navy.com that they usually are not allowed to write until the 3rd week and that they are only allowed to write on Sundays or Holidays. They get to read their mail on Sundays. They do not usually call until the 3rd week or 4th week depending on how their DIV is doing. Writing and calling is a privledge and they have to earn it. I know this does not help ease the pain but it does help knowing that don't hope for a letter at least til then. What I don't get is why moms that have been through this don't tell this info to the ones that are going through it. It would help to know things like this!!

hi...my son is ship 03 division 238, his graduation is also july 9. hopefully by now you have received letters. I have received about 8 by now.

My son went in on May 11th. I don't have his Div information yet so I haven't been able to send him any letters but I have them sealed and ready to be addressed. His wife will forward it as soon as she gets it. I just keep reminding myself that a) he has already nearly two weeks under his belt already b) he is in extremely capable hands. This site has tons of information that will help fill in the information gaps that seem to plague the Navy. Every day he will be stronger and that will make his days to come easier. Stay strong - he's in for an exciting ride!

My son also left for bootcamp on may 11,he got to call home the other day,it was so wonderful to hear his voice,I have yet to receeive his box of stuff yet,but yesterday I did receive a letter from him.As you can see by the time 1:14am I find myself having a hard time sleeping,lol Im constantly thinking about him,:} but Im glad I found this website,it has really been comforting,thank you!!!!

Our son graduated May 7th however the memory of boot camp is still fresh. I suggest that you write to your recruit as much as possible even if you have to wait for a few days to get his address. Tell him about things you would normally talk about so he feels he has a link to home. Once you get his first letter you will feel a little better and the first telephone call can not last long enough. Trust me the first week is the longest but start marking of the days until graduation and before you know it you will be the proud mom of a sailor.

My son left on may 11 also,he is in div 233 I received a letter yesterday,but not his box yet,and he said graduation was july1st? Im gonna call the recruiter tommorrow to confirm,but I know its hard I find myself thinking about my son all the time,and I jump when the phone rings, this support group is very comforting,to know im not alone,lol Hang in there!

Keep Busy and Pray alot and write lots of letters that is how I got thru and now my Son is on the USS Truman on a cruise and my Family and I will get thru this too, Because we have our Faith and I know my Son has his Faith too and he has his wife to come back to they have only been married for a little over a year she is not a daughter-inlaw she is a daugther.
I was writing a letter tonight and ask about what he wanted in his care package but in boot camp they can't have care packages so take heart dear because I am sure he is doing what he wants and he will Love his job my Son does and they become so Proud of themselves but not as Proud as us Mom's "Right!)

Hello New Navy Mom,
I'm an old Navy Mom. My son has been in now 2 years and it still gets scary for me. I've been where you are right now. But don't worry mommy he's going to be just fine. But it might make you feel better if you start writing him now. And to make sure he gets a letter everyday. That will keep him focused. Send pictures,cards what ever you think that you could send him please send it. Always tell him that you miss him and how proud you are of him. Tell him that he can do anything that he puts his mind to. Because you never know what kind of day there having. Well I hope that I have helped you in some way. If you ever need to talk I'm always here. God Bless You

Thank you very much for your encouraging words,this helps so much.I walk around feeling so anxious,lol. I write everyday and have mailed about,6 letters so far,and the encouragment of those that can relate really helps,im new to all this so I would like to add you as a friend Anglea,if thats ok?
