Hi

Just got that 1st phone call, Bridgette sounded so good, so upbeat although she got a root canal yesterday and still has wisdom teeth to be pulled.  Swim test was piece of cake she said and lots of studying.  Bridgette was picked to be a Dental Yeoman so she will be busy and has received lots of letters  and said she wanted more.  But is doing great! We are so proud of her!

Imagine how much money you saved by having the Navy do her root canal! Also, they automatically remove wisdom teeth as they don't want any impacted wisdom teeth giving trouble while out to sea. There's basic dental care available on board ship but no oral surgeons. She'll get a day off to recover from her teeth being pulled. My son was Medical Yeoman in BC. He said it involved a lot of paperwork. What's she hoping to do in the Navy?
Her job is a firefighter but eventually she wants to be a CSI she has already started an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, but who knows where life will take her once she is done with boot camp !!! Do you know how often they get to make phone calls, and it is a good thing to be picked for a job in boot camp yes? Does that mean you have qualities that they like!

Thank you for replying Ihave posted on forums, groups and blogs and you are the first to reply!!

Phone calls are granted as a reward for good work. If you're lucky you may get a call after about 3 weeks, and maybe one more before the big call....that's the one after Battlestations when she'll call and say "Hi Mom, I'm a sailor!." That call you'll definitely get but any others are possible, not probable. It doesn't hurt to get some good recognition in boot camp. Any time you can get on the good side of the chiefs is worth having.
