My son started OCS in RI last Sunday.  I am new to this.  Any discussion on what to expect would be appreciated.

I am also new at this. My son is in RI Class 20-10 also. He got to call his wife once but no other news. Would love to get some news on how he's doing.
My son was able to email me on Monday. He said it was hard but he was doing well. He has passed three revolutions. Not sure what those are. Can anyone tell me?
I think you meant to say 'evolutions.' Those are the major challenges that your LO will have to pass to move through the phases of OCS. These include Outpost, RLP, drill comp, and all of the tests they have to take. Btw, there are a ton more than that, but these are the ones that came to mind. Congratulations, it sounds like he's doing well =)
dlousie,
How wonderful that you heard for your son! We have not heard from mine. The more I look at these sites the more I get concerned about what my LO is facing. Although, I have been so thankful for this site. Atleast I know what to pray for. Information sometimes is difficult for us to get due to living overseas in China. Internet... often goes down and facebook ...is not available unless you have vpn.
Ladies,

If you go to the OCS Graduate Moms group page, there is a link to a page for 20-10 moms. You can also find lots of helpful information on the previous group pages. My LO graduated the Friday before your LOs showed up. It's a wild ride, but very worthwhile. Try to remember our mantra - No News Is Good News (NNIGN). As long as everything is going well, they won't call home except for once a week, after they get through Indoc phase (4 weeks, I think). And if they have a spouse, Mom may not get a call at all (I didn't) until they get their cell phones back, which is during week 10. I know, it seems like a long time, but it really goes pretty quickly. Write often. Weather reports for the Newport area are especially welcomed as they get no outside news. Just don't send any packages or things that can fall out of the envelope (glitter, etc.) Packages have to be opened in front of the DI. Glitter and other cute stuff gets them picked on. They may not write back often, but they appreciate any news from home, and the fact that someone is thinking about them. And please ask any questions - we've all been through this before.
My son is also in 20-10 but the phone call last Sunday really encouraged me. I hope it is a weekly occurrence.
My son's wife recieved a call from my son. She said he sounded good, tired but excited about the challenge.
Meanwhile, my daughters, husband, and I have continued to send letters to him. We are going to send him a questionaire along with a stamped self addressed envelope. Just happy to hear that he was doing well and the experience was what he expected.
Is your son in 20-10A? That is the unit my son is in. He says he is doing ok as well and it was what he expected.
I don't know if it is A but he is in 20-10.
Hi , I believe my son is A for alpha . He said its a large group so there's also Bravo. The heatwave must be brutal for them.
Yes my son is also A. He said they are doing especially good at Drill. Hope the trend continues.
Yes my son said that they are doing well.
