Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son's PIR is 7/30/10, he's also Ship 12 Div 259. We're flying to O'Hare (from CA) on 7/28/10. Have you received any info. regarding battle stations and "when" we may expect the "I'm a sailor" call? We've received several letters and 2 phone calls from our son, that "all is going great and he's doing well"..but I'm anxious to hear any info. Thanks.

I have NOT. I am in the same BOAT. (Only 3 letters and 2 phone calls.) The last letter sounded like they were going through their tough time. Em says she is in a room with 88 girls. Can you even imagine all those hormones in 1 room? We are still waiting. We watch everyday for a letter.

My son's last letter sounded the same, "tough going" ... probably as it gets closer to graduation, they put more demands/pressures to make sure they are at their best and ready to graduate. I keep sending notes and cards of encouragement. He said, some guys act like the are in jr. high, not taking it serious. and have been sent to the "black line"...(not sure what that is, but, he said, you don't ever want to go there)...regarding "all those hormones in 1 room"...I'll keep good thoughts for your daughter...my daughter (who lives at home - college age) has been through many cheer camps, and those cheerleaders are not always cheerful, so I can relate.

Hey! We received a letter today as well. I had sent one of the surveys that someone had posted about a week or so ago. I told my daughter in the letter that I sent along with the survey that I just thought she could either fill it out or not, just thought it was amusing. She sent it back today - all filled out. She said it really made her smile. She added a few things, writing comments in the margin. She sounded so much better today in her letter as well.
My nieces are here visiting from CT. (Ages 8-11) They all wrote letters to her as well. She said in one of the letters one wrote, "Hope you are enjoying being at camp." One wrote, "I hope you are not getting too exhausted." Another wrote, "Do they make you march much?"
It was comments like these that also made her smile.

Hi Momce I too have a son on ship 12 div 259, The last letter I received he wrote twice on July 4th. He was a bit upset because the rdc found a cookie wrapper in the laundry and no one confessed to it, so all got "beat". Maybe why no phone call. From reading the forum it seems all divisions are struggling with this problem of teamwork. I could sense his fustration and just wrote words of encouragement and how it's vital to lead by example and not give up on your fellow recruits. On an up note:They were given apple and cherry pie for the holiday!

I, too, received two letters same day, same story. My son expressed same concerns and frustrations, he said many of the guys are not taking it serious and teamwork is a major issue. So, hopefully, everyone will get "on board" soon. He mentioned in his letter I recd today 7/12, (dated 7/8/10), that he hasn't recd many letters, we have written letters twice weekly (sometimes more) and a few of our friends have too, not sure if the delivery is "up to speed" on their end..Like you, I write upbeat and encouraging notes to him. So, hopefully he is receiving them. He said there was a 'big" test tomorrow ? Momce

Wow----glad you had an early "heads up" about his grad and go! I'm sorry your time with him will be short----do you already have a plan to meet him while he is in A School? We plan to travel to Pensacola in October. What area did your son choose to study? This may have a bearing on his early school start date (hence: grad and go).

What is your son going to school for? How did you find out he is a grad & go? I am trying to find out these details myself. I was told he may be staying right where he is, just moving across from the boot camp training ship?

We got the letter today! We will have the same PIR date. We too will be driving from Tennessee - a little town northwest of Nashville. I'm currently making reservations.
