Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I don't know which 20-10 group he is in. I wish I did! We live overseas. It's difficult getting any information and everything takes so long! We sent my LO a questionaire along with a stamped self- addressed envelope. Maybe then we will get some more information. He has been in contact with his wife so that makes me feel good!
I know that the weather has been hot there. Hope they are all drinking enough!
Like all of you, I am so very proud of my son and all of our sons and daughters! What an honor to have such awesome children!!! We pray for all of them daily! -

Yes send plenty of stamp self address to you is even better. When they hit their bunks at night before lights out they are so tired but they can write a few words close the envelope and mail it without worrying about addresses and stamps. Every letter you write you enclose another envelope with paper inside and stamped and addressed just keep doing it Send one before they even leave for OCS don't tell them but remind him how proud you are. And send a phone card they need it to make calls home when they can. And keep the information off the back of the card so you can refill the card when he says he is low on minutes. And do not send packages I can not stress that enough only letters in plain business size envelopes while at OCS. Leave the packages for deployment. If you have any other questions you can PM just say you are an OCS Mom and I will try and answer your question or if you read a class or so before his and after his group you will learn a lot. God speed you have raised a boy and now he becomes a Man.

I am with you. My son leaves for OCS on August 20th, 2010. Would like to have help getting through this! I'm with you, now we just need someone who can lead us...

This is the end of week three for my son. So far we have gotten two phone calls and two letters. He was also able to email us once a week. As long as your son is mentally and physically ready he will do fine.

Ellen - be the leader! Go to the OCS Graduate group and start a discussion thread for your son's class. You will be amazed how fast the other families will find you! You will enjoy each other's company and lean on each other through the process. It was a great help to me and many others I corresponded with along the way.
Wanted you to know that Sally is right about the timing on the OCS video from projo. Almost EVERY class has had some changes in the way they progress through the program. I will say that, except for timing, most everything is spot on.
Congratulations to all of your LO's on their acceptance into the program. Best wishes to the candidates and families as you start this adventure that is OCS! -

You will all lead each other but to the OCS site and post you son's class number their maybe a group started already. My son's class had a great gal that started with E and she lead and her mom lead on this side and we all made it through and in the end we all smiled as they threw their hates and ripped off the black tape that covered their stripes. You will understand soon enough what I am saying be proud but be careful because this is a sight anyone can read whether here at officers or over at at OCS. Good luck and God's speed to you and your officer to be.
Their maybe a face book page already started for son to meet some of his fellow mates before he leaves he should check that out. -

The video you all are watching is no longeris the way they do everything. After my son's class graduated they changed things up quite a bit. So yes the language is correct but the timing is not. Your best to stay on the OCS site until you loved one becomes an officer then move on over here and join us or join the group from your state, or a group that they are trying to become pilot, what ever Or join many groups as I have. But please for all of our men and women in uniform be careful of the information you give out about yourself and your loved ones. Best wishes to everyone who reads this. Sally

Hi again! I wanted to parrot Sally again. Go the main page and read the discussion about OPSEC (operational security). It will give you a great guideline as far as what can be said and what should not. This is an open site, not a closed forum and too much info is not a good idea. Also, learn to private message on this site for exchange of detailed information.

For those who have heard directly from their 20-10 LO: Out of poopy suits? They are either in Alpha or Bravo? Have finished RLP? What section are they in now? Have they moved into the barracks with upper classmen?
If you could answer any of these questions, we would appreciate it. Just would like to be able to somewhat visualize kind of where he is. Thanks again! -

My son is 20-10A. They seem to be doing great.We received a lengthy letter on Sat. and it gave us a real feel for what he is going through. RLP is Thurs. this week. Another OCS class started this past Sunday so it takes some of the heat off them. Alpha seems to be a highly intelligent competent group. We should be proud.

Yes we are very proud. We have gotten all good reports from our son. I have confidence he will do well on Thursday.

My son also started OCS in RI yesterday. Class 02-11. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about what he is going through and what I should expect.
