For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

theresa...most likely he didn't makethe call. The lines aer ling and they are stressed out. Does he have an activated calling card or did he take a cell phone w/ him to use on the way?

He could have gotten in late from being shuttled in from airport. I had given up on my son making the call after last getting his text that he landed at 7:55 p.m. I went to bed at 11:30 and 10 minutes later the call came! If it was very late, they could have processed him in and not called.

My son left July 13th and i haven't heard from him until now.. i called his recruiter and asked my concern..he told me that I should have a phone call after one day that my son was arrived...i was sooo sad and missing my son so much.

minang37 Ditto what Hoppi said. Just hang in there. Soon you'll get your "kid in a box" and the form letter with all the graduation info, password for parking pass, address, ship/division and a handwritten note from your rct. I left you a message on your profile wall. Go to your page and scroll down to read it.
Did he have an activated calling card?? He'll need it to call home. No sweat if not, he can buy one at the NEX and/or you can send him one in your next letter. Activate it first and make sure he knows it is activated (saves them time)

Hi, Theresa. I just now found this forum... and I hope you have heard from your son by now.
(From what I've been reading on N4M, every mom gets calls/letters at different times. It seems to really vary.)
You're in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope you get more news via a call or letter soon!

Hi Theresa, My son left for Boot Camp on June 22, we got the phone call on the 23rd that he was there (about a 2 second phone call), we got "the box" on Friday, and the form letter on Monday. I did not hear again from my son until July 8, got a letter that day. Then we finally got a phone call (20 min.) this past Thursday July 15, along with another letter. Just keep sending him letters.....my son said the letters from home helps a lot! I will be praying for your son and for you.... Hang In There and PRAY!!
