Hey Ladies!! Got my call earlier!! Around Four!! So happy to here his voice!! Pretty sure they all passed the last test... but only 30 min. call until they have all averages in!! I snuck in some comments and names !! Surprised him.. until I told him about our group:) He said to tell u ladies HI!!
OH! I forgot to mention... my Sailor said there are 3 parts to Boot Camp... they are in Phase 2 called something like MCA. I don't know what that means, but hey, it's progress right?
MCA - Mid Cycle Assessment. :)
I'm glad all u ladies got all this great info from your calls. When my son asked me if there was anything I wanted to know, I froze, I couln't think of 1 thing, I was just so happy to hear his voice, plus I sharred my call with his Dad and little brother. But that's okay, i'll just have to write him and make more questionaires up for him, lol. I did tell him to hang in there and not request a transfer.
Oh i found out something else on my call, someone sent thier recruit "spongebob playing cards", needless to say they where taken away. The RDC told him that his kids would have fun playing with them that night, LOL.
Evening ladies,
I got this off of PIR 8/13/2010 site and revaped it for us ( i added 7 days, cause they are a week ahead of us) It won't be compleatley accurate but I thought it might gives us a general idea of what is next for our recruits (i think mabey, I have too much time on my hands, lol,)

8/13 - 8/19 "THE PHONE CALL" received after Battlestations...the LONG one...received the day that your recruit becomes a sailor! Div 273 calls 8/6
8/16 Pictures are ready
8/18 Orders received
8/20 P I R !!!!
My sailor said there's a lot of nukes and AECFs. (he's AECF) he also had a sore throat from all the PT they'd been doing. Poor thing:(
I just got my questionnaire back from Karlton and here are some things that I learned:

1.) Their new weeks start on Wednesday's and today is 3:2
2.) The most surprising thing about boot camp is that it is mostly in doors!
3.) He sleeps on the bottom bunk and his bunk mate has the initials V.J. and is from KY (does he belong to you?)
4.) Here are the initials of some of the guys he is friends with; R.H. (Jetcar's hubby! And he has previously mentioned JD’s Hubby & Amber’s son!), B.D., D.F., S.T., S.B., C.G., B.M., J.C. (do any of those initials match your SR's initials?)
5.) Their beds are comfortable, especially after 16-18 hour days, ha!
6.) There are 2 guys in the compartment that do ALL the laundry (5 washers 6 dryers)
7.) They have 12min to make their bed
8.) He walks 15-20min to get to church
9.) They have 6-8min to take a shower for 43 guys (sometimes 15min)
10.) They get to go to the store once per month for toiletries
11.) Here is how they get woken up each morning; Lights come on and they hear, "Get the F up, lets GO!"
12.) Watch happens in increments of 2 hour slots (24 hours a day). Two guys are on watch for two hours and then it changes.
13.) Food (Karlton is a trained chef): good variety, favorite is veal parmesan, 20min to eat
14.) It is 90 degrees or more every day and humid
15.) They have to wear tighty whities every day! Then Navy shorts! Then their pants!
16.) They can use the restroom at any time except during an inspection.
17.) The division went from 88 guys to 86 guys on 7/15/10
18.) There are 12 divisions in the USS Chicago and it is 3 floors.
19.) On a scale of 1-10 (1 is worst and 10 is best) the division is working as a team at a 2.5 as of 7/15/10.
20.) He trusts the RDC's with his life!
21.) Hardest thing about PT is trying to go to sleep right after because they are all sweaty! PT is GOOD and HARD!
22.) It takes 20min to clean the head with a toothbrush!
23.) When they get their mail the RDC's toss it at them and if they catch it, the division cheers. Sometimes the RDC's toss it in the wrong direction on purpose to make them run/hustle. He said it is a fun time of day :)
24.) He writes his letters at night from on his bed. They have a little desk inside their rack.
25.) They iron their uniforms at night (all throughout the night) in one hour shifts.

There is much more (the questionnaire was 87 questions!) but this is the most relevant stuff that applies to the whole division. Enjoy!
We want here the rest:)! Except the personal of course!!:) I got a letter today that mentioned 50% of div. failed uniform inspection! Mine passed , but had 1 hit for collar device! .... I'm thinking its not easy to iron when 1/2 asleep!
I still feel bad for my Sailor... he'll take a hit at every inspection. But I find it hilarious that it takes 20 mins to clean the head with a toothbrush... hehehehe....
What Karlton said what that only 16 passed (Karlton included) and the rest failed, yikes!)
No, none of those initials are his. But like I said, my hubby's bunkmates with the guy whose wife had the baby.
