While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Kimbob: Hello! We have received two letters so far: one on Wed. 7/14 and another on Wed. 7/21. We live about three hours south of Great Lakes, so mail travels from there to our home in only two days. We are fortunate. I know moms in other states have to wait even longer.
I'm so sorry you have not yet received a letter. I will say a special prayer for you this evening. I'm sure a letter is coming soon. -

I am from TN and got 2 letters this week. I was on vacation but they had to have come Wed or Thur. one was from her personally and the other was the form letter. She also was able to call me today which was a blessing. I do hope you get one real soon they are gold to us parents as well. keep us updated and let us know when you get yours...

I just got a 2nd letter yesterday...my son left July 6th...he didn't have much to say, but he did tell me they can only actually sit down and write on Sundays...the rest of the week is all booked up, and Sundays is their day when they have a few minutes to themselves...What division is your son/daughter?? If you haven't gotten a letter, I'm sure you will soon...hang in there, and keep writing to them!

Hi Kimbob...I received one last week with the form letter...But I haven't received one this week, but I have been racing home every night hoping there will be one waiting!!!...Hopefully you will receive one soon!

Usually they will get 3 calls the "I'm here" call, "I'm still alive" and the "I'm a Sailor" call.
Some only get one or two of those. Some N4M's don't get any calls...some just get the"I'm a sailor" call
Some get a quick "information" call in the first week or 2 of boot.
Some actually get to call every week or so...depends on the RDC, how the division is doing, etc.
Phone calls are random and most are earned, so just watch for the 847 area code -
