My goal: 20 lbs by PIR! Lost so far: 13 lbs.

Only 7 to go! Granted, I could stand to lose a LOT more than that, but little baby steps. I had lost 60 lbs at one time and after going through some major life changes I gained 40 of it back. I want to lose that plus some more. Yeah, a lot I know, but for those of you going to PIR you'll see. However, that's not the point. The point is, I'm working on it again. I feel better.

Just FYI, I'm a former WW member (couldn't continue because of the cost) so I've got a pretty good game plan. However, I still like to share my little victories, cry a bit when I screw up, and offer any support that I can to others because I know what it's like to go through this.
Thank you so much for starting this discussion, I love it! It is always so nice to find a great group of support when it comes to weight loss. For me, weight loss is a very hard journey, but very rewarding! My goal when Karlton left was to lose 20lbs by PIR. So far, I am down 12 so I am making pretty good progress. I try to exercise at least 4-5 times a week (I go to 24Hour Fitness and do Kickboxing!) and I eat healthy and in small portions. I weigh in once a week so I will post when I find out for this week. Good luck to the rest of you!
Wow! Kickboxing! I'm lucky if I get Yoga in once a week on Wednesday nights. I'll probably go swimming next Wednesday and probably tomorrow too. I'm REALLY bad with exercise..... but I used to do the walking videos.. they were pretty cool and kicked butt too surprisingly.
I think different exercise is better for different people. I have tried yoga three times: the first time it was okay but then the instructor got a little weird at the end and had us sit in Indian style with out hands out like Egyptians and say "Ommmmm, ommmm, immmm" while she lit candles in the dark. It kinda scared me away from yoga for a couple years, ha! My second and third attempts were no better. I got about half way through the class and had to walk out because of how bad my wrists and hands were hurting from putting all the weight of my body on them for such long periods of time.

But then there are a TON of people who LOVE yoga. Half my friends and most of my cousins do yoga all the time and they love it. For me, I guess I am just better off jumping, kicking, and punching for some reason.

I am glad to know that you have found something that you like and enjoy doing. To me, exercise should always be fun and/or enjoyable. If it's miserable what is the point??? I like to feel good after I exercise and nobody feels good after feeling miserable for an hour, LOL! Have fun swimming tomorrow and Wednesday... and have fun at yoga too :)
I too need to lose weight, about 80 lbs now, I was doing good untill I broke my leg, uggg, and gained 16lbs, ouch. Anyway since it's finally healing and I can walk without it aching so much anymore, I need to get back to it. I too have tried WW among many other things, including pills. Love the biggest loser and Dance your Ass off, he, he, he. I love to dance and therefore have always wanted to try belly dancing :) or mabey even pole dancing :D but whatever I do, I've got to do something, I hate not being able to go to whatever store I want and pick something off the rack to wear. Thanks for starting this site, hoping to be able to stay in touch even after PIR!
I'm too chicken to try pole dancing! *LOL* I'm sure my Sailor would love it but uh... I'd probably embarrass myself somehow. I'm glad you're healing up though!! That's the important part! I know exercise is huge for losing weight, but so is making good food choices. THat's what WW did for me. I'm not doing much lately (and I missed swimming this morning, oh well), but I know I'll need to kick it up a notch here soon.

Belly dancing, I hear, is INTENSE! Not that its a bad thing, but that it burns a TON of calories. You should try it if you've always wanted to! Good thing about those classes? It's all women (unless things have changed.... lol).
Yay! I weighed in today and have now lost 15.2 pounds since Karlton left! only 4.8 more to lose to hit that 20 pounds mark before PIR... maybe more if I keep this up :)
I was really surprised that I lost 2.8 pounds this week. I think it makes up for my weigh in last week because for some very strange reason, after eating well and exercizing 5 or 6 times I GAINED .4 pounds last Saturday. I was really discouraged becuase I knew I hadn't done anything wrong. So discouraged in fact that I almost didn't go to my weigh in today, I was about 20min late to my WW meeting because at the last min I MADE myself get up and go! I was pleasently surprised to find out that I was down 2.8 from last Saturday! I think sometimes our bodies "do their own thing" ya know? Two weeks... exact same behavior on my part... first week UP .4... second week DOWN 2.8. Kind of annoying, kind of crazy, but rewarding in the end when you FORCE yourself to just stick with it and not give up when you feel discouraged.
Honestly if you're kickboxing I wouldn't be surprised if you're packing on some muscle. Muscle does weight more than fat and it's a lot better to have on you than that. But, eventually it'll balance out.

I'm really proud of you for getting up to go, even if you were late. Sometimes I find that the WW meetings were repetitive and sometimes even not very supportive, though they gave great advice.
I have a really great group leader :) She is very down to earth and uplifting. She lost about 40 lbs about seven years ago and has kept it off. She goes to my same kickboxing classes at the gym too so I can see her practicing what she preaches on Saturday mornings and that really helps. I had a leader at one point that was not even in shape... that was really confusing... LOL!
I just got back from Yoga and swimming.... I'm BEAT!!! I only lost 1 lb this week, but it's one less I have to carry! So that brings my total to 14. :)

The hilarious thing was the fact that a coworker and I had on the EXACT same bathing suit. Neither of us had seen the other's bathing suite and when we came out of the changing room... we both were laughing so hard we were crying!
How funny about the bathing suits! That happened to me and on of my friends in highschool with this hot pink satin dress we both bough. Congrats on the 14 pounds, that is awesome!
What an awesome discussion! Add me to the weight loss gang. I just lost 18 lbs on Nutrisystems. I still need to lose though. I feel I have been stress eating since my son left so I need to nip that before I gain back the 18 lbs. I have also done WW. That is the ideal way to do it. My problem is that I get bored and then I mess up. Also lack of exercise. I walk the dog, I like to ride my bike, but have not done that in a while. If the schedule in my house changes that always throws me off and gives me an excuse. The Wii fit was working pretty good for a while too, but I got bored of that also.
