Hi Ladies,

My baby girl, Katie is graduating from boot camp!!  We are so proud!!  I am looking for flight+hotel+rental car information, then the thought occured to me, 'will she be able to stay at the hotel with me, then go back on Sunday night?', does anyone know?

Also, what hotel is the best one to stay at that has a shuttle to the base?

SUPER EXCITED!!

Your PIR group will be a good source of info here is the link, just click on the http address http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir862010
Jessica, you are fabulous, I had no idea about the individual groups. I will look at it now. Thank you so much.
Some do and some don't! More than likely - she will have to report back to the base every evening.
Almost all hotels in the area have shuttles ( they are just vans that charge $5 each way /per person to and from PIR). You just hop on one and go and then same to go back to hotel (and your own car) with your new US NAVY SAILOR!!!

I suggest taking the shuttle to PIR even if you have a car in the area - much faster!!!!
Thank you so much Brenda Sue! Now I just need to find a hotel with a shuttle...any suggestions?
The Ramada Waugegan is where the Meet and Greet is the Thurs before PIR and it has a free shuttle, continental bfast, indoor pool, restaurant & bar, close to RTC and Gurnee Mall

Where is she going to A school at and what is her division #??
Hey Jessica,

We will be at the Meet and Greet on Thursday. My girl will be statying there for A school. She is currently in 269. I havent seen anyone else from her group yet. Im really curious about the ribbons.
What division is yours in?
Patti
You need the gate pass (password in the form letter) for the rental car (print out an extra and put in your pocketbook)

Take a GPS or rent one with car...google addresses, hotel, ariport, RTC, Gurnee Mall, Navy Pier, restaurants and write down addresses
We are driving, I think after reading these posts, that it may be a good idea just to take the shuttle to the PIR. Do you know it there is a fee for parking at the PIR?
There is no fee to park but i recommend that you take the shuttle to PIR.
Thank you so much Jessica. Are you nervous at all?
Patti, actually my son PIR'd Jan 29 10 He's now in Italy. I just hang around and help answer questions and direct traffic here on N4M's
Jessica, you are wonderful for doing this. Thank you so much. Italy? Do you get to video chat with him or talk with him often?
