While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

ok...so I've been pretty quiet. But been following the main chat...then decided "OH YEAH! THERE'S A CHAT SPECIFICALLY FOR 283!!! DUH!!! I SHOULD CHECK IT OUT!!!"
Been pretty busy. Getting things together
OH! and man did I ROFL when sweetheart said about the grease. It's actually Grease Lightning they're singing....I know this for a fact....In fact I know the routine as I'm POSITIVE it is my hubby who started it. Story behind this: He used to work at a bar in Michigan that has flare bartenders and dance routines and the bartenders sing and dance and people are encouraged to stand on stools and hit stuff with sticks to make a lot of noise. One of his favorite routines was Grease Lightning. He wrote me and told me he showed the guys the routine LMAO!!! Boy do I love that man. :-D He was the singer in a band too that he put together. They almost went big...until some of the band members decided they didn't want to do the band thing....but we kareoke (one of our favorite things to do together) and he sings ALL the time...so again I'm sure he started it....then others probably thought "hey! that actually sounds like a good idea/fun time" and joined in...my hubby has that effect on people. LOL!! :-D
Sorry for the long post...but it just made me happy to hear their singing and I'm pretty positive I know where it started. LOL -

17 days till we see our " Sons, husbands, or boy friends :) Curious...Where does your sailor go after bootcamp? Mines headed to Florida for IT !

I got a phone call. Not a good one. My SR got pulled from the Division. He's now in RCU with no idea when he'll graduate. He's upset and hurting. Both his legs have stress fractures. He'll have to heal up and then go through assessment. Good news is that he did pass into Phase 3 (which means most likely the entire division is now in Phase 3... which is the last phase). So, as long as he gets fit for duty later he'll probably join another division as they slide into Phase 3. But, as of right now, I have NO idea what is going on other than that he's not graduating. He said he'll let me know everything as soon as he can.
Today sucks. I want to go home (I'm still at work) and I just want to cry my heart out (again). -

I am so sorry. My heart goes out to you, and to your son. Know that most likely he WILL graduate- they just need him to heal up a bit. So while this does lengthen the amount of time you'll see him again, he'll feel a lot better, and you'll feel better knowing he's not in pain.

My heart is breaking for you Angel :( You and your SR must be crushed, I am so sorry! Are you at least going to be able to have phone calls with him during this time or is it still going to be to where he has to earn them? You must want to pick up the phone and call him right now, I am so sorry. One bright side in this is that the Navy will provide excellent medical care for him while he is healing so he is in good hands. Do you know how he got the stress fractures in his legs?

I'm SO sorry to hear this! At least he got through to phase 3. So when he does get put with another div it won't be for too long. I'll pray he heals quickly.

JDs~Angel - I'm very sorry for your guy and your bad news. This is the last thing we ever want for our SR's. I feel him (your SR on the pain part), I had a stress fracture in my Tibia, I get to return to work on the 25th of this month. I'll keep both you and your SR in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything I can do or you just need to vent, you can always give me a call. I'll put my phone # in a private message. Take care and please keep in touch with me, to let me know on his progress and how your doing.

Got mail today from Brad. He sounds okay in them.
Hell week is over, said it sucked -ended on july 30th - i think
fire range was class was july 29th
Fire range was on July 30th and he had fun
No news yet about grad and go
Have not had pictures taken yet - as of July 31st
Went to see classifer, he said she told him the same stuff he knew - I geuss that means he keeps his MAA position and is stiil headed to San Antonio for A school
Tierd of waking up at 4 am
Did B.A.S.E.S on July 31st
Had their RDC assessment the other day
His run has improved, Yea, Needs to shave another 1 min and 11 secounds off to pass
Had a drill insepection on 8/2
Their 2nd test was on 8/3
Said Marline Spike was fun
