Oh yea and my son is going to San Antonio, Tx for A school, and he thinks it's hot now.
Mike is AECF, so we'll be in Chicago for up to a year. I join him in September. *so excited*
So I guess you're going through all the stress of moving too??? I'm trying to pack, get out of our lease, get the cats up to date on shots, take care of dr stuff, and hubby's truck broke before he left and he wanted me to get that fixed too....on top of working 6 day weeks....I don't know where I'm going to have time for everything
Tell me about it. No pets (yet) so I don't have to worry about any kitties and their shots, but I had an eye appointment a couple days ago (I can't see anything without my glasses) and I have to get new tires and an oil change and coolant flush, which is insane, I don't know how I'm going to deal with the movers, and I don't even have a job (I don't have enough time to get one.)
Check out a book called Married to the Military. It tells you how to deal with the movers etc...It's helping me keep my sanity. :-)
I first started reading it when I went to barnes and nobles and just sat around reading it...then I ended up buying it! 100% recommended
I agree 100%! This is an amazing book and SOOO informative, but in a really easy to understand kind of way. It is actually written by a woman that was/is (?) a Navy wife for many many years. So, although it touches on all the branches it is a MUST HAVE for a Navy wife. I loved that book! Plus, it's pink and that's always fun!
omg you have that book too? I got it as a "welcome to spousehood" thing right when he left for boot camp. It did help a lot, but there were a lot of things I didn't know, like how first moves work, because they are a little different. And of course, I skipped all the parts on kids, since I don't have any (yet)
Incidentally, that woman who wrote the book-her husband is stationed at Norfolk-at least he was at the time. I live in Virginia Beach, so that was another thing I had in common with her.
*to Sailorssweetheart* I know, I love pink too!
Angel... Sorry to hear about JD!! That bites! "Hugs" to you both!
Got another letter from my son... He wants Taco Bell too!!??? His biggest worry was the push ups.. they have to do 40! He's up to 55 now!! Takes some of my worry off those non-refundable airplane tickets:) I fly out sunday.. son said there a group going to the Amusement park?? Any of yours going?

ANYBODY GET A PHONE CALL...lately?
No phone call yet, but I want one, bad! I don't know if brad wants to go to six flags but if he does, will be there. It's his weekend and we'll do whatever he wants, even taco bell, LOL. I'm going to make a questionaire about that weekend. What he thinks he might want to see/do/eat on Fri, Sat, and Sun. I'm going to included things that I know are there, since I have a visiters guide and he doesn't.
I feel for all the new GF/Wifes that are starting their millitary moves. Been there~Done that. SOme of it was great, some not so great, and I was a daughter. Good luck!
Got a letter today :) Looks like this week they will have Fire fighting, haircuts, pictures, test #2, and Gas Chamber! He said they have been extreemly busy this past week and they are moving really fast to get through everything in time. He is excited for PIR and he is counting downt he days too.
A little bummed because I think two of his letters to me are lost in the mail right now. I only know that because he numbers all of his letters and the last one I got was #35 and today I got #38. That also explains why I havn't recieved a letter since Saturday. I was getting them almost daily for a while. I found out in a phone call with him last Wednesday that the RDC's allow them to send out mail every single day, not sure if I shared that already.
Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I'm passing it along. it's been rough and he's not happy so I'm trying my best to send him things to cheer him up. I took a pic of me for him and made a pic with colored pencils that said "I *heart* you" that I'm printing up and sending today. I haven't gotten any word from him since he moved to RCU other than that quick phone call. Sounds like he tore a muscle in his shoulder too. Poor guy. I have no clue if he's "sucking it up" or not. He's tough and has come this far, which I've reminded him in each letter I've sent since (only 3 but still), so if he can just hang in there it's not much left to do. :)
Okay ladies, Div 284 got phone calls yesterday, hoping that ours come today or 2 morrow!!!
