My husband is also in Ship 6 Div 946! I received my letter today too and read it at least 6 times before putting it down. Its so nice to know that he is ok.
Yay! I am so glad to "meet" you Liz! It will be a long 8 weeks, but this site is awesome, and it has allready helped me through the first week.
my son is also Ship 6 Div 946. Just got the "box" and form letter. But I missed his phone call Sat. He told me that he is doing well but gets yelled at a lot. lol
Hi finnsmom, my husband said there had been a lot of yelling too. I don't mind if it means they are doing well and allready earning phone calls!
I don't mind the yelling either. I know that they all will do well and earn more calls home. Now i have to plan my trip out there to see him OCT yay
yelling is good, if they earn calls.. made our plans last night, we chose the ramada which is 4 miles from base and has free shuttle, and gives discount to navy families use the LPNN code..sounded real nice too...
Thanks its nice to meet you too! It has actually helped me a lot too before I could even post anything. lol Its so nice to have people to talk to that are in the same situation. I obviously have my family but I dont think they really understand.
Yes, Got out letter today as well and our son is ship 6, Div 946 as well. Even though the notes at the bottom where short they were sweet h?
Hi markie! Welcome!
My son's letter came yesterday. It was so nice to be able to speak with him on Saturday. He sounded really tired but he seemed to be doing well. I read something about the 900 Division being for those in music. That confused me because he is going into electronics and is not musically talented. Does anyone know anything about that? He said they had to be ready to march a graduation ceremony by the 5th week though.
My husband is going in as HM (Hospital Corpsman) and has no musical talent either. He mentioned something about carrying the states flags during the ceremony. I have looked on youtube and gotten other info about this on N4M. From what I understand it is an honor to be chosen for a 900 Div and participate in the PIR day traditions and performance. They also have to rehearse during the evenings on top of learn all of the basic BC training. Therefore they will have even less time to sleep, write, or call. Mia, your son is one busy young man right now and will thrive off of your supportive letters! There is more to this division than musical talents and no matter what division, we are proud of all the future sailors and their hard work.
Wow! All this sounds so interesting.....my son said something about it being a honor to be in the 900 division as well, but I wasnt sure if he new everything about that.....We are looking forward to hopefully another phone call soon as well. Does anyone know what kind of time they will have to spend with us after PIR?
