For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

That was me! My son left on August 10th and from what we are told he was supposed to arrive on August 11th. We have gotten no phone call; however, my son's recruiter called and faxed us his address. I was totally shocked at this - but I will take it! I still wish I had the phone call but I guess there are reasons for this. I also got the ship number and division (or whatever it is). I am doing a bit better but it is still difficult!!

Called the recruiter and although he is out of town, he said that he had the address, he is going to send it to me via e-mail. I told him about this site, sounded like he didn't know, I also told him I sent my sons with their cell phones and that they were allowed to use them to txt until around Chicago ( I think when they got on the bus). I let him know that my kiddo called me from his cell phone, he was surprised and grateful for the info, hes going to pass it on to the other mama's.
Was up till 2am last night on this site, I was freaking out a little because of the wisdom teeth situation. I don't know why, but being on this site calms me - guess cause I know I'm not alone. Thanks for being here to my new navy family.

My daughter also reported to boot camp on Aug. 10. Went real well until I got the phone call
that night saying made it ok, sending you my things, next contact 3 weeks. Love you, bye.
That really struck home for some reason. How are you doing?

I received his phone call last night also. It took so much willpower not to bust out in tears. I know I have to be strong for him when he calls. Ive gone through every emotion I possibly can these last few weeks. I'm emotionally drained.

My daughter left for MEPS on Aug. 10 arrived at GL on Aug 11th...I'm so proud of her but yet I have been crying on and off since the recruiter pulled out of the driveway!

My daughter arrived on the 11th also. Do you know her Ship/Div yet? I'm crying with you too...this is really hard. She's our only child, 20yrs old.

My son was supposed to leave on the 9th and be at GL on the 10th. After reporting to MEPS they told him to go home and come back the next day. DOUBLE TORTURE! Saying goodbye two days in a row was hard, although I was glad to see him for one extra day. Got the rushed phone call on the 11th. Glad to hear from from him even if it was for 15 seconds. Like all the other moms, I think about him constantly. I'll be happy when I can stop crying every hour! I'm glad to have this site, so many things I need to learn. Now if only I could get his address..........

I got the BOX. I'm so excited. Now just waiting for a letter. I'm checking my cell phone all day long thinking that she will text me any time now. Wishfull thinking, since her phone is in the box. I miss her so much. My husband and i are also empty nesters, i feels kinda strange. I still want to make my plans with her in them.

The box arrived this morning as well. It was great to see his handwriting on the outside with his name in big, bold letters. He included a note on the back of the issued "Navy tube socks"which made my day: Phone in shorts...love you. I look forward to having his address so that I can write him. I finally found at WalMart an AT&T calling card today to send to him that wasn't attached to a specific phone and can be used anywhere. We are almost done with the first week, do they get anytime off on Saturdays or Sundays?

Those darn calling cards were such a pain to find!! Everythings for cell phones these days...although when my daughter checked in at the USO in the airport, they gave each kid a free 100 min calling card, so they are set for the first couple calls at least.

I found cards at Walgreens, 20 dollars for 350 min, surcharge 1.35 each time they connect. They let my sons use their cell phones when they arrived for the 5 second scripted call. I am hoping that the cards will get them through the other 2 calls they get.

yea i have picked up my cell a few times to txt my daughter as well...then it clicks...depressing!!
