Have you heard from your daughter or son?  My daughter is in Div 300 and she sounds good, but tired.  Interesting in hearing how your daughter or son is doing.

My son in the same division, and called on Saturday. He sounded great except for a bad cold! I sensed he was a little tired too though he didn't mention it.
Glad to hear from someone else. My daughter also called on Saturday. She is trying to get ready for the second test. She is struggling as she is an audio learner and there isn't much discussion or lecture going on. She sounded good until we had to hang up then she got teary on me. Are you going to PIR?
Yes we are. We are from Maine and will be flying there on September 1st.
We are going also, and we are from California and we will also be coming in on September 1st, but not until about 8:00. I can't wait to wrap my arms around my litle girl, so should I say my grown sailor.
Where at in California? I will be flying out of San Francisco at 6am on the 1st. With our kids doing BS21 on the 31st, I am worried that I will miss the "I'm a Sailor" call... Didn't receive a call last weekend, maybe she was on watch or something, but man like you Mill my little girl!!!
We are in Sacramento. We don't fly out until 2:00 and get in at 8:00. We did get a call last week my daughter is struggling a little bit, as she is an audio learner and there is a lot of book reading, so she is trying to study for the second test. She is the petty officer in charge of weapons, which she just loves. Go figure.
wow we are pretty close, I am in Hayward which is only a bit over an hour from each other. My daughter has been struggling with the running part. She didn't pass it the first time and was hoping that she would last week. My daughter is petty officer in charge of shoe shining and she just loves teaching everyone how to do it. My daughter did very well on the weapon test and was really looking forward to shooting the guns, which is nothing new to her, she has hunted on and off in Colusa County since she was 9 with her Dad.
We are close. My daughter hs struggled with the running also, as she pulled her right calf and was on light duty. They released her from light duty, so I hope she passes. My daughter also is no stranger to guns and we have hunted for years. It did crack us up when she stated in a letter that she go the warm fuzzies when they brought out the 8mm guns. So being in charge of weapons was right up her alley.
Our daughter is in Div.11 we heard from her two weeks ago. Waiting for a phone call. Emily seems to be adjusting. The last phone call we had a bad connection we spent most of the time trying to hear each other. If you have any updates please let us know.

Diane from New Jersey

PS. Will you be going to the PIR and if so where will you be staying?
We are going an we currently have reservations at the Red Carpet Inn, It's 1 mile from the base. I'm not expecting the best rooms, but I don't care as long as I get to hold my daughter. No real updates, other then they are taking the second test that they have to pass. I look forward to hearing from her. She has been able to call for three weekends in a row, and we haven't had any issues (knock on wood) hearing each other. Where are you staying?

Diane, what happened to the group you had started?
Great to hear from you we will be staying at the Ramanda . Do you know what the second test is?

Diane
I don't know what the test is, but I know they have been studing hard. I think the PFA is today.
