It seemed like forever ago that my husband joined the Navy and was places in the Nukes program. He signed up in January, his ship out date is Oct 4. And now im starting to get nervous! and exicted of course. We are both young (20) and have a 9 month old son. Are there any military day cares in the area? Or just civilian? Im planning on continuing my nursing education once we get settled into Goose Creek...eeckk I cant wait! Do any of you ladies go to school in the area? Any moms? How do you ladies still get some things done for yourselves? Im so looking forward to meeting everyone when we move later this year

There is a daycare called the CDC(Child Development Center) here on base. I live a couple houses down from it :) Theres also some daycares in the area but your best bet would be the CDC. They base their rates off your income. My friend is going to school for nursing at Trident Technical College up here and she has a 1 year old. So if you'd like to continue your education here it's definately do-able. I have a 4 year old and am expecting another in October. I have a lot of free time on my hands right now because my husband is studying A LOT for his power school comp test(its the final exam to graduate power school). My time here in Goose Creek has been awesome. We've been here a couple weeks shy of a year and we've done so much. We've been to the aquarium, the beach(more times than I can count!), the zoo, downtown charleston, and a bunch of other places. There will be times when it seems like he's always at school but it'll get better in time after he adjusts to the nuke school rooutine. A-school was rough at the beginning (during phase 1)but after the first couple weeks the guys go into phase 2 and have more freedom. The first day my husband had class he told me "I'm gonna fail this nuke school!" but he's also a bit dramatic. He did well at the end of A-school. He graduated A-school with honors and was BM(Basic Mechanics) honorman of his class. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions feel free to message me =)
Thank you so much, whewww I feel a bit better now. Charleston does seem like a lot of fun. I cant wait to get our little family settled in =]. Congratulations to your man for doing so well in school. Ben is really nervous about school too, everyone is always telling him how hard it is and how so many guys drop out, blah blah blah. But i know he'll make it through.
