Hi- You certainly sound like a very busy person. I have a question--- You said you stayed at the Navy Lodge. I am unsure of the qualifications required to be able to stay at the lodge. My question- 1) Can the recruits' family stay at the lodge. 2) Does the recruit need to be at the Lodge when we check in? 3) If not what is required to establish the connection with the recruit ( We do not have any other military connection). 4) What are the accommodations like- I can not find any info on line 5) Is there possibilities of more than one bed in a room 5) Do they have suites that offer more than one separate bedroom in that suite? I am trying to accomodate mutliple family members with some privacy at a reasonable expense. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is there a web site that could help with my investigations. Thank You
To stay at the Navy Lodge you do not have to have military ID. Just tell them when you call that you have a recruit graduating. The room will be in your recruits name and they will tell you that your recruit will need to come by and show ID after PIR but they never did ask us for that once we were there. The cost is $65.00 a night and they have rooms with 2 queen beds and you can also request one with a kitchen. It has a frig and microwave, sink, stove and small table. But they are putting in a new venting system and won't allow you to cook smelly foods such as fish and seafood. There is no extra charge for the room with a kitchen. They don't have rooms with separate bedrooms. I hope this helps. :)
Hi--- Thank you so very much for your info and help. It has cleared up many many questions I have had. Now I need to share this info with all that is attending. Thank you again. Donna
I got a phone call yesterday from my son. he sounded sooo down. he just got in trouble with the drill sg. after talking it out, he realized it wasn't so bad. then to my surprise he called me at work today!!!.he needed more info for his security clearance. but we got to talk for a good ten min.
So glad you rec'd a call from him today. I'm sure you are smiling from ear to ear. I wasn't home today and was so afraid that I might have missed a call from my son. He didn't call but we did get our first letter from him. I used to hate writing letters but just knowing how much it blesses the guys makes me want to write him all the time. Enjoy your week.
Hoping all that had wisdom teeth pulled are doing ok, speedy recovery to all.
My "son" Andy is an 006 as well. I had some problems getting his address and just got off my first letter to him today. He's a wonderful young man I met on N4M who was excited/nervous about decision to join the Navy and, heartbreaking as it is, has ZERO parental or family support. Being a Navy wife already with a Hubby in C school (who ironically was in a 900 division as well last year), I thankfully know what to expect. I wish I could join you guys for PIR but I'll be with you in spirit. If any of you have sailors that are going to be FCs or ISs, I'll do what I can to help you out as well. Praying for all our recruits and sailors!
Thought you all might want to see a pic of one of your ribbons.

Hi 946-
Just wanted to bring us back to page 1 of discussions and keep everyone up to date. So far no calls from 946 in two weeks. But we have been recieving letters, almost regularly this week. Tomorrow starts Hell Week (week 4 day 1) unless they move it back bc of the holiday. If so Tuesday will start Hell Week. What we know about this week is lots of inspections, written tests, and physical tests. The pressure is on for our guys, as if it wasn't allready. Pictures should be taken soon, according to my SR they will be taken close to week 5.
Hoping for a call tomorrow! Keep your local mail person busy this next week!! Write those letters!!!
Does anyone know who checks should be written out to for the pictures?
I am not sure. Jessica B or Sobe may know. I think the contact person is in the NEX on base. I will see what I can dig up.
Thanks for being so helpful. How are you feeling? Come on out little one.
