Sorry SailorSarah's dad, my son will be staying in GL for GM A school. So glad your daughter is doing good! I received my first letter this week too. My son is doing good and says that it isn't as tough as he thought it would be. lol The joke at home before he left was that he had lived with the toughest drill instructor all of his life, me! lol Hope you have a great day!
Awe...I feel so bad for my hubby. I got the first real letter today and it was 6 pages. But it was haphazardly written and it was confusing. He was SIQ (stay in quarters) for 2 days for medical. But he didn't tell me what the reason was. He said he didn't know. Odd. He was really homesick and said he cried daily when he thought of home. He passed the swim eval and said it was easy. But failed the run. He was confident that he will make it by final. He said the division was not coming together and it was costing them phone calls and extra writing times. He said the older guys are irritated with the pups for screwing off and not taking things seriously. Said it makes things ten times harder when one kid mouths off and then they all have to pay for it. He has met some good guys though that are on the ball and that are making this a career.
It's still early yet and they will start to congeal when they realize that they don't have a choice.

Ok ladies, you know your boys...tell your delinquents to get it together, lol! Just kidding!
Bellaboo2U...my boy is 21...I wonder if that qualifies him as an older guy? I can see him getting real frustrated with anyone goofing around because is so serious about getting it right and a pretty quiet guy himself. He was homesick too!! But I hear that's pretty normal when life as you know it has been turned upside down and inside out! Hope we get some phone calls soon! Those boys better straighten up and fly right (as my mom used to say) LOL LOL
I know!!! The husband said that there are a lot of guys in there from all over and I can imagine that they are all not going to get along in the beginning but there is a breaking point where they realize that their lives depend on the others and vice versa. Once that mind set congeals, they form a strong bond. I hope it happens soon so that they can make it thru battlestations. He said there were a few that got sent home for medical reasons. He was down in the beginning and started coming around towards the end of his letters. He loves his gear and loves living in it, lol. Mine said he felt like he was getting singled out sometimes, but being older or even the oldest will have its perks and pressures.
I am crossing my fingers and toes eyes and legs that they all make it and do well! lol
Awww this makes me sad! I hope those that aren't getting it done straighten up so we can get our calls! Glad you got letters! My son is 18 will be 19 in October and takes this very serious! My son said that one had been sent home for medical reasons. They will come together and all will be fine. Bellaboo2u I hope the hubby is feeling better by the time you get his next letter. My son didn't mention any problems with the div but then he probably wouldn't afraid I would come up there! lol I work with kids that don't like to follow rules and and directions! lol My son talked about making this a career but I thought I would wait till after he got through bc and was in a while before bringing it up again! He said that bc wasn't as bad as he thought it would be! Praying things get better for our guys!!!!
It will get better and the cream always rises. There is always a few bad apples that have to be mashed into applesauce! lol. My husband is pretty relaxed about things but when it comes to his job and safety he gets uptight. I can understand his frustration. I know I do not have the mental wear-with-all to handle what he is going through. I just don't play well with others. He can though and as I said, I am sure once they start undergoing the real mental break down they will come together and get the jobs done. I remember hating summer camp because I was tossed in with girls I detested but within a few days or so we were buds.
You can't like everyone, but they aren't supposed to like everyone, they are supposed to put personal feelings aside and get the tasks done. It will be interesting to hear as the weeks pass what all goes on.
Hi everyone! We haven't gotten a letter yet, maybe tomorrow. Soon we'll be in September!
Hi Maureen! I certainly hope you get a letter tomorrow! And yes it will soon be September! I put in for a request off from work today! Don't think I will have a problem getting off, but if I do I guess I will quit! lol

Bellaboo2u you are so right! They will get it! They have to learn to take care of business! I hope we get that call tomorrow or Sunday!

Have you made your motel reservations??
My son also indicated their are some who need to get their crap together. He said they may not be able to make calls for another week, but he wasn't sure. He doesn't have patience for others who cause problems either. All I can think of is getting their team together before PIR so we can have the maximum time with them over the weekend. I guess I am looking at the end result. I really hope they are awarded a call SOON! That was his only negative response. He joked that he is still his unorganized self....that he just temporarily suspended it! :)
Yes Twin Falls they need to fall in line and get it together soon! I wish I knew where that weekly schedule was so I could look and see what they have coming up next week! Did everyone see the post about pics????
I missed the post about pics? Anything I need to know?
Prices and pkgs! What you get in each pkg! They don't take it out of the SR pay anymore. They don't except third party checks either. SR will either have to go to the bank and withdraw the money or we will have to pay for them after graduation in the NEX. There was a number I think I am going to call Monday and see if I can pay with my debit card or send them a check directly. There is only 2 pkgs: A is $140.00 includes the book B is $120.00 and doesn't. The PIR CD is $29.00. But I can remember the number of pics and the sizes! Sorry!!!! I think it was posted in our PIR group!
