I just made a deposit into our Navy account so that I could make sure he had the funds to get the pics. I told him to get EVERYTHING! Package A and the other goodies they have. I dont get to go so I want all the keepsakes I can get my paws on.
I see that everyone was posting what their recruits rating is. I was so excited to finally know his ship and division that I didn't mention it. His rating is HM (hospital corps man). He will do his A school in GL. He was not too happy as he knows it will get very cold.
My husband is either FC or ET, not sure which. Either way he is staying in GL for A school and then not sure where to after that but he's going to be in GL til next spring if I remember correctly what he told me.

My hubby is from TX originally but has survived 3 Minnesota winters. I think another midwest winter will put the nail in the coffin on the snow for him, lol. He hates it. hahahha
My son is a Machinist's Mate (MM) - submarines. He'll stay in GL and then go tto Groton CT for sub school.
My son is submarine electronics Computer Field (SECF). He too will be in GL for A school. Looks like we will have a few hanging out together.
It does look like all of ours are staying in GL for A school! I think that is pretty cool, especially if they are friends now. I can't wait to get another letter or a call to find out. Hope you all are having a great day!
I hope that a good group of them get to stay in GL and hang together. It will allow them to make some friends and stay in touch. The hubby said he met quite a few guys he would like to stay in touch with. The bonds they make now in basic will last for a lifetime for many of them.
That is nice to know Bellaboo. I so hope my son is one of them. As a mother you hate to think of your boy being out there alone and trying to make good decisions. He is a good boy with a good head on his shoulders. Just nice to think of him having someone a little older to help steer him right!
Hello all! Just wanted to let you know that I started a new discussion page in our PIR group. I read where we needed to do this and delete the ones we have been on. Can't wait to see you on the other page!
