Both your boys are very handsome! I only have Curtis so I'm an empty nest. I got used to going a week without seeing him when his Dad & I divorced. That was really hard. I thought this would be easier, but it's still hard. I think the no contact is what I struggle with the most. If I could just text him I would feel better. But I know this is what he wants and how it has to be for the next 7 weeks. I am going to look into skype. I hear it's free and once he's at A school maybe I can "see" him on the computer.

Hang in there ladies. We can do this and we are going to be so proud of them when they finish boot camp. Hugs to both of you. You're in my thoughts.
Thank you. I think I have the best boys in the world.
I have had Marion to myself for so many years. He never really saw his dad on a regular basis. And he passed away. Oct. 16 will be three years. OMG. It just dawned on me that is the day after his PIR.

He was in boy scouts and he did a lot of camping. Nothing more than a week but he had a cell phone so I could always tell him I love him. I thought maybe that would prepare me a bit for him leaving...boy was I wrong.

I heard that skype was great when they are in A school. Isn't your son staying in Great lakes. i may have you confused with someone else.

Today has been rough but I was able to get up and do some laundry and even cook dinner for the first time. I think I ate more tonight at dinner than I have eaten in over a week.

Hugs back at ya. We will make it and our children will be stronger and we will be prouder.
Rebecca, I also have an 8 year old girl.

I'm sending all you ladies happy thoughts and positive vibes!!!
Good Morning Pink and Newnavymom.
I feel bad. I cannot remember if I got your names or if I forgot them.
So if you can let me know your name. I understand if for privacy reasons you don't.

Today is another day and I hope that this is a good day for you both.

Hugs to you both and have a Blessed day
Hi Rebecca, my name is Shari. I am still waiting for a box and a letter from my son. I checked the mail yesterday and nothing..I don't even think the mailman came yesterday. I tell you something is wrong with the postal service here in Fresno!
Just found out my son is Ship12 Div 344 PIR 10/15!!! Im so excited to see him and i am so glad to see others feeling the same way I feel....hang in there everyone!
It was awesome hearing from Nick, even tho it was a short note at the end of the letter...it was something! Im waiting patiently for a call from him...I don't go anywhere without my cell phone...so afraid I will miss it.
Hey Shari. I just said something on your post at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command on FB. LOL

Welcome Nicks mom
I knew it!!! I had a feeling my husband and your son would be together! How cool is that! Sooooo exciting! How've you been!?!
Thanks for the welcome...its so great to have people who understand the feelings I have. I miss Nick so very much...he is a special young man!

Thanks for this website as well, Im learning so much!

Hang in there everyone!!!!
Hi Nicks mom.....Did you receive a box and a letter yet? I ran to the mailbox and NOTHING! So frustrated and wanting to cry......
Yes, I was so surprised....He left Monday and I got his box on Thursday and his letter came today. It was so great to see just his handwriting. I find myself trying to explain how my heart is just broken and I don't think anyone can understand unless they are feeling it too....
I would be frustrated as well, I got the box, looked at it for about 10 minutes.....then I opened it and cried for about 30 minutes. Then his letter today, he assured me that he was pushing thru this, and how much he loved and missed us. I carry my cell phone with me all day long because I am afraid that I will miss his call....I feel like its stuck to my hand....

Hang in there...I bet you will get something really soon!!!

My name is Teresa....nice to talk to you!
Hi Teresa,
Awwww...so glad you got your box and letter. I was hoping mine would be in the mail today but no.
Maybe monday.

Hugs to you all.
