Just thought I'd start a post so we can share where we are staying.

I'm staying at SpringHill Suites in Waukegan. The rate is $79.00 for a King Room with a separate sitting area with a pull out bed  and desk, mini frig and microwave. They do have a Shuttle for PIR - it's contracted through another company. It leaves at 6:30 AM and 7:30
AM the morning of graduation and costs $3 each way so $6 round trip. I
read many reviews on Trip Advisor and almost all LOVED it there. They
said the free breakfast was great - cook your own waffles, (boiled) eggs,
sausage, fruit, bagels, etc. There is a Super Wal-Mart very close as
well so if you want snacks you can get them there. It's 5.6 miles from
RTC.

I know... they wanted to try to charge me the reg rate $159/night for Weds & Thurs. I was like... ummm... no way!
Staying at the SpringHill too...Residence wanted $97 and $141 for Sunday...couldn't get them lower. SpringHill really nice and didn't take too much convincing to get the $79...thanks to all who paved the way ahead of me!
Ramada Inn in Waukegan 14th-18th
We booked the Candlewood Inn suites. Don't know the price. My hubbie took care of it.
I cancelled my reservations at the Navy Lodge and made reservations at the SpringHill suites as well. I think it will be nicer and plus they offer shuttle service and the Navy Lodge doesn't. I just want to make sure my son is comfortable and has fun while he can. Can't wait..... Missing my Sailor boy tonight.........
I curious what did you have to tell them to get the special rate? I have not made reservations yet and could use the help.
Hi Vickie,
I called Springhill and told them I was coming for a Navy graduation. Rates are $79 for one king or $89 for 2 queen; both rooms have sofabeds also, plus micro and fridge. But the lady did say there are a limited number of rooms at that special rate, so do call ASAP.
Well ladies, I have to share again. I made my reservations at Springhill, only because of all the wonderful things you've been saying. I got quoted 89 for a king room and 99 for the queen room. I made the reservation yesterday, only to discover after the fact that my rates were higher than what you all were given. I just now got off the phone, and had to be transferred to Marriott's customer service, and she insists that the rate I have is correct, but there are 'Navy Graduation' rates of 89 and 79 at a few other places, and she'd be willing to change where I stay, but not for Springhill. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is there something I should be saying, other than my son's graduating in a Navy graduation on 10/15/10? The call started to get a little intense, but bottom line, I still ended up with $99 for the queen beds. Oh well...
We made reservations at the Springhill Suites in Lincolnshire (13 miles from RTC) the rates are $74 for Navy Graduation
Ok, I changed the place where we are staying from the Ramada to the Springhill Suites in Waukegan. I never got as low of a rate as most of you did tho. They are charging me 99.00 + tax per night for 2 queen beds. She told me that was the Military graduation discount.rate. But at least I will feel safer.
Hi Nathan's Mom, we'll be at the same hotel, also coming in late on Thurs 14th. 3 of us (me, hubby, girlfriend) ... but not picking up the rental car until Friday after the graduation ceremony. Would you be interested in carpooling Fri morning to get to the base? I'm getting alarmed, reading these posts, about how early we need to be at the gates on Friday to get thru clearance and get good seats. Looks like need to leave the hotel no later than 530 am, and there is no shuttle until 630 from the hotel. We're considering getting a taxi Fri morning to get there, but I'm not sure that there will be taxi service in Waukegan!
My mom and I are staying at the Springhill Suites as well and we were given the price $89.00 for a king bed. They offer a shuttle for the graduation but you must get a ticket at the front desk the night before. No one can board the shuttle without a ticket.
