I received first letter today, Monday August 30. My husband left from MEPS on Aug 17.
Hi, I am in California. My son Joe is 20 soon to be 21. He is married, so his wife gets everything. I don't mind, at least she had to get the box with his stuff in it. I may have, had a hard time with that. We have already made the reservations for the room and the plane tickets for Thursday. We are very excited. It has been a long August. We have not received a personal letter yet. I hope and pray that all is going well.
Is your son in Div 340? I received letter today. Personal, not official. He left MEPS Aug 17.
Yes, He left MEPS August 17th also. We will probably get something in the next day or 2 then. Thanks! :} I hope it was good news that you received.
Did letter give you any general info on how the division is doing?
Chris turned 18 in June. When he signed up I had to sign also giving my permission to let him join. I cant believe that they have been gone only 2 weeks. It seems much longer. I hope that we get letters by Wed.I couldn't bring myself to turn off his phone. Every so often I call It just to here his voice. If he ever found that out he would think I'd lost my mind.LOL!!
Hey, I have Danny's last two voice mails on my cell phone and I kept his last message on my answering machine. Plus, come on, who didn't hold their kids shirt to their face when it came home in "kid in a box." I am hoping for a letter today.
Hi all! I finally got this thing up & running! My son is SHIP 10 DIV 340 also - He didn't have a cell when he left, so no voicemail to call :-( His 18th B-day came and went last week :-( No letter yet :-(
Gosh - I'm so glad to know I'm not the only mom going nuts! I'm praying for a letter today - it's Wednesday, not that it should take 3 days for mail from Il to WI, but... :-) I just want to hear SOMETHING, you know? I think the hardest part is not knowing what they're going through. I mean... we know basically what the gist of each week is - but not being able to hear from our boys / girls personally is hard. Like all of a sudden my right to be a part of his life just got taken away - and I am not liking this one bit!

Whew! Thanks for the venting space! Well, very grateful to have all the N4Ms to get to know, lean on and encourage each other!
when is your sons Birthday? Tylers was on 8-27 he turned 19, I got a letter today hopefully you will too!
We won't tell :-) And WE don't think you've lost it - any more than we have anyhow! :-)
Hi again everyone! Has anyone from our division gotten a letter yet? I saw some other div's moms saying they got thier letters today and boy are they excited!!! I know we're all ready to tackle the mailman! :-) I will let everyone know when it finally gets here!

BTW - just wanted to say Thank you to everyone on this site! Been in kind of a funk lately, and I feel like being able to make some connections here is really helping me to not feel so lost and lonely! It's good to know we're not alone - or crazy!! :-))
Hi! Well ladies my husband will be the one to knock down thw mailman, He watches for the mail lady everyday and he 's at the box as fast as she pulls up. I sure hope one of us gets a letter soon. I'm only an hour away from Great Lakes, and I feel like it's a million miles away. Well I've been waiting so long I'm thinking if I get out and do something fun the letter will come. Well I'm going to the Oprah show for the first show of the last season 9/2/10. So when I get home, that letter better be there. If not I at least hope you ladies have heard from your love ones. Take care got to go pick up my girls from volley ball.
