We saw her sworn in yesterday morning, we texted while she was at the airport. She called when she got to Chicago, and then heard from her again about midnight, said she'd call in 3 weeks. Hope she is making it okay today.....

Keep your head up and be strong, My daughter went to boot camp in January and is now in GM "A" school in Great Lakes. We are going to see her graduate "A" school next week. You will be amazed at the changes in your daughter after boot camp. They really mature. Write her everyday if you can so if she has a bad day she has a pick me up. I wrote my daughter every single day and they said that she had more letters than her entire division put together. She said "I had enough letters mom, I could have knocked someone out with them" She said many times how much the letters meant to her and when she would get homesick she would read her letters and she knew how much I loved her and that I was cheering her on from afar! It is hard but it will make you both stonger women!
I am teary eyed reading your comment, This is soo what we are hoping for as well, thanks for the words of encouragement.
Charlee you are so very welcome. It is very hard letting your child go but we strive as parents to make them the best person they can be. When they leave the nest and prove how strong and capable they are we should feel proud because that is what we worked so hard for. Not hearing from her is not a bad thing. I think that they are trying to teach them to have confidence in themselves. It sure worked for my daughter. She has amazed me with the confidence and independence she has in herself. Navy for Moms was what kept me going through bootcamp and I am so blessed to have had all of these wonderful women for support. My PIR group was amazing and it was especially nice to meet them at the meet and greet the night before PIR. Make sure you do that because it is very special to be able to personally thank YOUR cheerleaders that helped you through this difficult time. If you ever need to talk feel free to send me a message, you can do it!! GO NAVY!!!!
