Greetings Tripletmom! I am also a ship 12 div 345 parent. My son's name is Jonathan and he is from Oklahoma. Look forward to taking this journey with you.
Sandy
Greetings to you as well Sandy. What job is your son hoping to get in the Navy. My son is signed up for Aircrew thus far. when did your son ship to Great Lakes! mine left on August 23rd although he was originally was supposed to leave on the 17th. Did you receive a phone call last Saturday? I was so not expecting it so missed it but now am happy because I have his voice recorded and I can listen to it anytime I miss him.

Barbara
Hi Barbara,
My son is a Nuke but the exact job/rate is undetermined at this point. He left on the 24th after spending almost a year in DEP trying to get an earlier ship date. He's really excited about this opportunity. Sorry to say I did not get a phone call...it went to his fiance. I did, however, get a wonderful note at the bottom of the Navy form letter that goes out with his contact and PIR info.
Sandy
Oh, sorry to hear that. It must be hard for you to take second place during this time. My son has a girlfriend but she has only a couple of months in the relationship so I still take first place. Although he is a triplet and my guess is the next call will go to his brothers. My note told me to be sure and give his address to his friends. Well Stephen did say that they would get calls every Saturday so hopefully this one will be yours. I already know where Stephens is going

Barbara
Did your sons divison get calls last thursday too? My fiance is in divison 347 and he got a phone call this past saturday too i hope they get calls every saturday that would be a nice treat!!!!
No he has only been gone 8 days so the I'm here call and then the one on Saturday are the only ones but since I wasn't expecting a call at all for a couple of weeks it was really nice. Their phone priviledges really do depend on their commandor
hello moms finally more moms from ship12 div 345, i was startin to wonder if there was any moms with thier kids on this unit. my daughter is in the division , we are from tx she left on 8/24, miss her so much glad there's more of us on here
I, too, have been wondering if we have a very small division or if the 345 moms just haven't found their way here yet. So glad you are here!
Sandy
Guess this means we have to tell all of our kids to have their bunkmates write home about Navy4moms so that we will more join us. My son for one thinks this is the dumbest site ever but spends hours on facebook. lol
Good idea. That's a great way to get the other mom's on board. My son and I both like Facebook, but he is glad that I spend time here on N4Ms. He used to ask me once in a while if I'd logged on recently. I think it makes him feel like I'm more a part of his Navy experience. During DEP I'd share info that I learned here and he and his dad really appreciated the link to the "Life on a Carrier" video which they watched together.
Hi Sandy - DillonsMom (Cindy) in our PIR Group is from Gilbert. Just though I'd share that! ;)
I am so glad to see a mom with a daughter on this ship and division, I was beginning to think she had sent me the wrong information. We are from North Carolina and our daughter left on 8/23. This has been the longest and saddest 2 weeks ever, but I am so proud of her. I hope both of our daughters are doing well. I also wish the best for all the other young men and women that are beginning their Navy journey.
