Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I am still under the impression it is Oct 1st.
I am getting ready to make the travel plans for me, my husband and my parents. I want to try to get the closest hotel I can.. I hope I get to spend at least the weekend with him. It's going to annoy me to have to share him with so many people (kidding, kind of).
I am also getting insurance in case the date changes because I was told that could happen if the recruit gets hurt or doesnt pass a particular test. Better to be safe than sorry.
Hope everyone's recruits are well. Thank you for starting this forum!

yea my mom and i are driving from nj so we have booked the car for that weekend or the following weekend just in case and have another room booked as a backup just in case. but they seem to be doing well so lets all hope its october 1st. so far it's looking good for all of us that it is :) lots of praying and i've been writing everyday!!

No calls. I am starting to think all we will get are the original 3. "I'm here", week 3 "still here", and "I'm a sailor". Cant wait for that last call though.

yea thats the last week what the day before ??? because if its on the 30th or around there ill be able to talk. my mom and i will already be on the road to great lakes!

If we are lucky, we should get our calls early in the week. Our training group starts with div 323, the sister divisions go together, so if they follow the usual order we can expect to be on the first or second go around. From what I have been reading it is usually 2 divisions at a time, but sometimes four. However, with the Navy, nothing is set in stone. Keep the sailors, and the enemies guessing! And all of us are in limbo.

Hi all, not sure how this works since I'm new to this. My son is Ship 13, Div 326 also. Thank you all for your excellent information! Hate to say it, but I am getting more info from your posts than from my son's letters. I am in the same "boat" of girlfriend is getting all the long letters and I'm getting the "I'm here, I miss you, I'm good" letters.
Oh, and "send more stickers". The "stickers" are address labels I made for my son and for a few others in the division. I keep getting short notes saying "can you make a label for another recruit?" At least I know he is alive and well and able to write! As a mom, I'm happy to send them the labels, because I'd rather they spend their time writing their families instead of addressing an envelope.
I also missed my son's second call, but only becuase he had trouble getting the calling card to work AFTER he called his girlfriend (ha! ha!). She's really good about texting me EVERY time she gets a call or a letter, though.
P.S. One letter from my son said they were down to 72 recruits, but that was about a week and a half ago.

I too am getting more info here than from my son. I get a bit more than I miss you, but I still have not gotten all of my questions answered. I sent my son list of questions, and space for his answers. Maybe he'll send it back, and it will be sort of entertaining for him lol.
Down to 72 in their division huh. Do you know how many they started out with? I never asked. -

Wendy, they started with 88 from what my SR said in his only long phone call last week. At that time they were down to 76.

I got another letter from my son today, the 7th so far. He said he may only have Friday for liberty since he is grad and go. His A School is in Great Lakes, so we were hoping he would get the whole weekend. Waiting to get info from him is the hardest part!
I just wrote up a list of questions for him today, too! I didn't think of leaving space for him to anwer. That's a great idea and maybe I'll actually get more of them answered that way. :-)
I spoke to his girlfriend today and she gave me a little more info from the letters she's gotten. They have 25 minutes to write on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 hours on Sunday. My son said they started out with 88, also. -

Bethany, welcome. My SR is in this division and the last letter he sent was very down. Letter before that was longer and said they had 76 in the division. Looks like they may have gotten rid of the few bad apples that were spoiling things for the rest of them. I've gotten 3 letters total and 1 almost 20 minute phone call. I sent some questionnaires and SASE but he sent them in other envelopes. Go figure. Have a good evening and ask away with any questions.
