I really can't wait to hear from my husband!!! I'm really missing him today... I think it is the anticipation of the phone call or the letter!

My daughter was really missing him last night as well. Considering the circumstances, I think my kids and I have been holding up pretty well... they're adjusting to all the changes better than I could have wished for... thank God!

But today... maybe also because of the gloomy Houston weather... I miss him... terribly!
I feel your pain Abby!! Some days are just soooo bad, and others I feel like I am doing pretty good.

Its gotta be tough on the kids, they are so young and its hard for them to understand...

Im thinkin of everyone, and I am so glad to have this site to go to....noone really understands, unless your going thru it yourself....

Hang in there!!!
yeah, im in dallas texas and the gloomy weather already makes you wanna just snuggle up wih him :( today has been one of the more difficult day! but we are now one day closer! :) stay strong!!
I'm in northern california and it's gloomy here too! What's up with that?! I think maybe the weather is reflecting our moods.... we need letters people!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello Abby. I live just outside of Houston. Small world.
Hang in there we will hear something real soon.
did any of ou ladies receive a letter today? hopefully tomorrow!
I'm in California and the mail doesn't get here until 5 pm....so after work, I will get home and find out.
NO..Sigh
yeah, im in texas! no letter today. but im waiting patiently.
Finally!!! I received 2 letters today!!!! It was soo great to hear from him....I had a little 'break down' and have read them 5-6 times again!

Im so happy to hear from him and see that he is ok...

I hope everyone gets theirs today or tomorrow....he got all my letters at once...I sent letters from every day and cards and photos, so he got alot of stuff, but he said it was so nice to have a piece of home....

Hang in there everyone....10-15 will be here before we know it!
Nick's mom, did he describe his experience?
He said they kept them awake for the first 48 hours....then they went to their 'ships' and he said that was when all the 'yelling' started! He said he learned very quickly that if he listens, and does everything that they tell him to do, that they will leave you alone.

He did say they were struggling as a team, so thats why they havent earned any calls home yet. It sounded as if there were still some recruits that werent taking it serious.

He said the food was great, so thats a plus....
He said they started physical training this week. They have lots of tests to pass, I guess both physical and written....and if they don't pass these, they won't be able to graduate on the 15th. He said he was doing everything he could to make sure he didn't have to stay there any longer then he had to.

He said that he would write more about whats going on in his next letter, he didn't have alot of time...during this free time on Sundays is when he will write...alot of people in our family has written him, so he was trying to write back to everyone too...

He sounded good tho....it made me feel so much better.

Hang in there....the waiting is the worse....is it ever!!!
