Awww....I know! I think as soon as we hear their voice and get down there to see them at PIR we will feel more excitement and joy and be so proud of them!! I emailed the RTC...they just sent me a response letting me know that the first week they send home a form letter with the address and graduation date. But...today begins week three and I've only received the box. No letter or phone call yet....praying that I get the letter today!! otherwise if nothing this week I'll call his recruiter.
I just called to Great Lakes IL to "something affair office" and some niece guy was answering all my concerns and questions, I believe the concern is more in our minds and hearts than what is going on in b.c.
We have to "Let Go"!!!:)
I am in the exact situation, my son is going to be gonne only God knows for how long and my daughter will be across the world to college and I am already sad, misserable and feeling like somebody took a big chunk out of my body. I bet we will be perfecetly all right with the time. (I hope so)
Hi All, my son graduated BC May 09, I miss him today as much as I did the day he left.......... he since has finished A-School, and is now stationed in Hawaii, tht is about 4,000 miles away....though he has been home a few times since then and I have visited him in HI, it is still very hard to be so far away, but it will get easier once they get out of BC. We talk if not every day atleast every other day if long enough to say hi and make sure each other are doing ok. He is my only child and I am divorced, needless to say I still miss him very much, but when I start gettting to sad I just think all the possitive things about his decision to join the Navy, and the good thing is.......I get to visit him in HI. I plan on going again early Spring if all goes well since he probably wont make it home for the Holidays.
Good Luck to you all......it will be fine and just remember in the Navy, "No News is Good News" and DO plan on going to PIR, it is something you should not miss, you will have so much fun that weekend.
Thanks for the encouragement! Do you know how much time my son will have to spend out to sea? He is going to be ET
