Ditto on the LOL, if not, buckets of tears will be filled to the rim :( ... and I normally use a regular spoon and eat low-carb ice cream, but, I'm with you KSmom and Vincent'sMom - I need full-fat chocolate flavor at this stage of the game! So, not sure how this works - i'm thinking we won't get calls until next weekend :( ? Or have y'all heard of that happening mid-week :) ?
Oh no....I have heard of them calling during the week. Don't give up...maybe this week. I just hope the division hasn't been getting into some kind of trouble. Most calls that are being made...seemed to have been earned. My sons letters made everything seem fine. I hope that it is!!
Hello,
I am Kama's mom-Cyndi. She is on ship 2 Div 948. She moved from ship 6.
I just joined.
Hi Cyndi....Welcome!!!! We are happy to have you join us. Have you received letters or had a phone call yet? Tell us everything!!! LOL
I have received two letters and her sister has also received a letter and a post card. No personal calls but I did get a call from her on about day 7 in. I had to speak with the docter. She had a reaction to one of her shots and they kept her that night in the medical area. She is still graduating with her div. I am waiting for a phone call so I can talk to her.
Yes, welcome Cyndi!! How are you doing? Are you hanging in there? Is this ALL new to you, or are you experienced in some way? My son is Davon, he's also in now, ship 2, div 948. I've gotten 3 letters, and a lot of us are in the stage of forwarding our home number to our cells and what not...we DON'T want to miss that precious call! Fill us in on how you're doin'... :)
She will call my cell phone so I am making sure that I keep it with me and charged. Her first letter was sooo sad she had not received any of my letters and was feeling lonley. I have been having text withdraws. I have not seen her since June because she went out to Maine for the summer with her friend and enlisted from there. But we would text ALL the time and talk daily. She said she misses having a phone. Do you know if they can keep their phones after graduation?
I miss her sooo much and can not wait to see her.
Well that's good - you both have a plan. It sounds for certain that you don't have to worry about missing her phone call then - thank goodness! I can see why you REALLY miss her - you've been away from her for awhile now - OMG! Just hang on okay? And think of it this way, as of Wednesday, they're HALF WAY THERE!!!
From all that I've read, no, still no phones after graduation, because the whole 'event' is still considered them being in boot camp. I would think, if the circumstances are if the sailor is a grad-n-go, they could have certain things in their possesion upon leaving boot camp, and since they're headed off to another destination, and no longer under certain boot camp rules. But, I'm simply putting this together based on the millions of pieces of information I've gotten. You can even try to make contact with her recruiter and ask that way. Honestly, I'd take the phone with you anyway - you never know...
Hi Cyndi! Welcome to Navy Mom's. This is a great place for support from fellow Navy Moms and lots of info from people who know what to expect.
Thank you! :-)
Seems we are coming together as our own little group. Most of us have shared our first names.....but I still have some holes. If you are willing to share, please fill in my missing info. If not, I understand but I would love to be on first-name basis when we see each other next month.
