Hi Tracy, My name is Debbie.
husband name is Paolo =)
YOU'RE RIGHT ON! Ursula, son Davon :D
Still no phone call here in NH. My first name is Sue:)
One of the other divisions just received their first call home. I think that only leaves our division.
I got my call !!!!!!! WOO HOOOO!!!!! I see you all did to!!!!! OMG.... I was talking to my son and tried to call my daughter on 3 way and I disconnected him!!!!! I cried for 5 minutes because I didn't get a chance to tell him I LOVE HIM. : ( I was a wreck walking around the house crying and then my wonderful, wonderful son called me back!!!!! He was going to call one of his friends with his extra time....but called me back instead. Gosh I love that boy!!!!! We have got to get together in a little while and compare notes. I have to go make some calls now myself. Congratulations to all of you.!!!!!!
I just got my first CALL!!!! Cloud 9 - I got to talk to my son for 35 minutes. Ship 2 - Division 948 is starting to get to make calls!!! They are coming ladies! I took notes during my call so that I could post everything he said! But for now, I have to get home from work. My son called as I was packing up for the day and I sat right down and talked to him. I didn't want to risk losing the connection as he called my cell. The call came in as "unavailable". So excited to share some of the things I learned!!! More later! Praying that you all get the same today!
DAVON JUST CALLED!!!!!!! I GOT 15 MINUTES WITH HIM!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! He's doing great! He's recovered from his bronchitis, and now says it's just awesome, much much better since he's not sick anymore!!! OMG!!!!!! I have to breathe...I have to call family...be back soon...I love all of you!!!!
Kimberlee CALLED!! She got cut off twice, her phone card ran out but I told her how to call collect and she called back. She sounded so upbeat. She got fitted for her Dress uniforms yesterday and had 3 cavities filled today at the Dentst.
gmd... I asked my son about your daughter; He said he doesn't know her personally but he does know her. I am so glad you got your call.

Ursula..I am so happy for you!!! I am also glad your son is felling better. My son said he has been in the bed the last 2 weeks. He said between the dental work and having some kind of flu bug, he has been out of it. He has missed the whole 2 weeks of physical training. (that worries me)

KSMom...I asked my Vincent about your Vinnie, He said that your son is very smart! (I thought you would like to hear that) : ) I'm sure you already knew that.though. LOL
Thanks for asking about my son! How thoughtful of you. I should have done same but only manged to find out news about the bunkmate. I did ask about all of you. It was a little hard because my son knew mainly last names and I have first names. That made it difficult for us. I told him I would write them all to him in a letter so maybe more will come of that.

How nice of your son to say my guy was smart. Yes, he is smart on all things academic. He was born lucky! HOWEVER, sometimes that gets him in trouble because he doesn't feel the need to study. He thinks he can just "wing it". I guess life is process and he will learn. LOL!

We shall see them soon! It's day 1 post-call and I am still just happy as a clam for all of us! Going to work is going to be so much more enjoyable today!
Ok...finally home and done calling all the family with the news! Some highlights to share with all of you. Vinny said:
Division started at over 90 and as of today they are down to 86. He said they "lost" two yesterday.
The entire ship is sick with colds. He said they got sick after shots and have been ever since. Nothing serious, just don't feel 100%.
Sunday morning is down-time. He said they can shower for longer on that day.
Drills are hard and they are doing a lot of marching. Once the day starts, no time to themselves really.
Says they are up at the earliest 4:30 at the latest 6am.
To bed each night by 10pm.
They all have dog tags and uniforms. They will graduate in BLUE and not the Navy white. Whites are summer and they will graduate in a "fall" class
They pull a lot of "watch" duty.
Everyone has to iron their own clothes. This takes 1/2 hour each morning......
My son is on the bottom bunk. His bunkmate, Garrett and he get along fine. Says his bunkmate's mom is on this site but I have yet to find her.....
They are having inspections on uniforms and their bunks....
My son said the food is good but he misses some of his favorite fast food places and Applebee's (he was a waiter there all summer)
Ship 6 (now ship 2) is a fully integrated co-ed ship. Not sure what that means and we were talking so fast, I forgot to ask that.....
My son misses Mountain Dew Code Red. None of that there!
He passed his first PT test and a lot of them did not but he said that you don't have to pass the first one. It's a baseline test to see where you are at.....
Forgot to ask about battlestation.....I'll ask him in my next letter
He said mail is sporadic...two days with nothing and then 6 letters all at once!
He sounded good! He sounded proud.
I cried when I hung up. Especially when he said, "Gotta go mom. I love you."

Share as much as you are comfy with.....let's compare notes. Oh....and I did take notes so that I could tell my hubby everything! I
