Hi Ladies and Gents (too) !

Just moving this discussion over from the Leaving from Boot Camp in August Page since it makes more sense to have it hear now!

Please join so we can all stay together and support each other through this!  Has anyone in this group received a letter or phone call yet?

I'm still waiting on that letter. Being in Florida might be making the difference right now. but I'm trying to be patient-not doing a very good job :)

I got a letter from him on Monday - it was dated 9/9 which I was surprised!! We have our arrangements but will probably leave shortly after he leaves if he is a grad and go. Based on what he told me on Saturday he was pretty sure he was grad and go :( But I assured him we would come see him after he was settled in Connecticut. We will be driving to PIR so we have the luxury of leaving when we need to!!! This week is going extremely fast and I can't believe we are down to 20-some days!!!

Have a good week!!
I don't know anymore on Grad and Go as far as my son new he was the whole weekend off. If it winds up he is well we will just be in town longer with out him. we made final arrangements and notice the longer you wait on tickets the higher they go. I hope he has weekend with us it be nice to have the time together. haven't heard from him since saturday but i know how hard they are working. Wrote him yesterday but the count down is not going fast enough. I feel like its dragging. He is my oldest of two and his sister is 12 and misses him like crazy gotta try to hold it together for her. Never thought i miss him as much as I do. If anyone is on facebook look me up my name is Mary smith Meadows or email is kyttyshere@aol.com to search. What a blessing it is to have another family to share this all with.
Maribeth, we are driving too so that won't change but I need to know if I have to figure out a way to stay til Monday!!
Marymom, I sent you a friend request on facebook too.
Kelli got the request. Just make sure the hotel is book from what i am told its about 1000 sailors families. We got five in our family but our youngest doesn't go on list cause she is only 12. Don't forget the parking pass before you leave
We've already got the hotel (3 actually, just have to decide which one to stay at!). We need to figure out if we need to ask for an extra day off work because of the extra day they get. Where are you staying and when do you come in?
Hi Marymom~When I joined navy4moms, it was suggested to me not to use my sons full name on here, for his own safety. I don't know if your user name is your recruits name or not, but if it is, you may want to change your user name or take his last name off. Welcome to Navy4Moms!
Hi girls-

Received another letter today. Was written On Sunday, 9/12. He confirmed again that this was a very busy week. Their second physical test was on Tuesday at 4:45 am! Two inspections and Gun Range were also this week. Next week includes the Gas Chamber and Fire Fighting! In the letter I received yesterday, he said that things were better, still have some little problems. The other night, something went wrong with showers and cleaning the bathroom and they all had to take everything out of their lockers, unfold and then re-fold while their sectional leaders had to do Intensive Training! Hope this helps for those of you that haven't got a letter yet, hang in there, you will! I do believe they are busy right now, because my letters had been up to 2 pages long and today's was only about 3/4 of a page. 21 days!!!
I got a letter today too but it was dated 09/07/10 (postmarked 09/15) which was before he called on Saturday. Didn't talk much about the division, just that they earned that flag by getting 4.06 on their first academic test (little bragging, he scored the highest). He said next week - meaning 09/13, I think - is the start of week 4, "affectionately called hell week". Which goes right along with what your letter said.

Can't wait to see Nathan and meet you all, just around the corner now!
Thank you both for sharing your letters. Maybe I'll get a letter tomorrow. I enjoy hearing about your letters, especially since my son has seemed to slack off in the writing department. Woohoo, regarding the 21 days Michelle. I'm starting to get really excited about seeing Chris! I'm also looking forward to meeting all of you who are going to the M&G.
This is just a copy and paste from what I posted on the main page. Sorry I didn't have any more division info!

Another letter today but it just makes me worried again. On the 14th he said their toughest week was finally there and he was sick with a fever and ST. He didn't want to miss anything so he didn't go to sick call. He said they were about average on their Marline spike, they did their 2nd PFA and had a personnel inspection/weapon turnover inspection. He continued on the 16th to say they had had their toughest inspection, zone. He didn't tell me how the division did because he was upset that he got one hit and was very disapointed, you could tell even in a letter. He has scored high on all his other inspections so this really bummed him. On top of that, he ended up on light duty for 5 days due to a strained tendon in his ankle. He's not happy, you can just tell. He wants to be there giving 100%. That was 4 days ago and even then he was able to start walking on it again so hopefully by now it is much better.
kellig ship ~ I will be praying fory ou son! I am sure all the recruits are all having some type of issue at this point with it being so close....they are almost there!!! He sounds like my son with wanting to give his 100%. My son had a cold not long ago and he told me he was absolutely not going to medical as he wanted to be graduating with his divisio on the 8th!!! I haven't heard from my son since last Wednesday and you know as well as I do how much things for them can change in just a few short days. I will be praying they all "keep it together" and get through this. I had a very, very bad vivid dream of my son on Saturday. I was edgy and upset most of the day. I had to talk myself out of the fact that there was anything wrong as I truly feel if something were very wrong or if he were badly hurt I would have heard something. But it seemed so real. I just think with their Battlestation 21 coming so close it was on my mind.

Well I will continue to pray for all of them and I hope he gets to feeling 100% again!!
Thanks for the encouraging words, no one understands like other Navy moms. It sounds like they all have been or are getting sick, I just hope they don't keep passing it around! Like you, I am sure that if there was something wrong we would hear so we just have to be confident that they are working through whatever they need to. I know our prayers will help them (and us) get through the little over 2 weeks that are left.

Hope you hear something soon.

Take care,

Kelli
