Amen to that! We are trying to save up the $$$ to go to graduation. My SR got some sleep last week 'cause they pulled his wisdom teeth. From what I've read online, they do that to anybody who still has them.
I believe this should be the first thing everyone using this site should watch:

Received a nice letter from my SR today. He doesn't sound as homesick as before :) Here is part of his letter as it talks about daily life in DIV 340 and I imagine a lot of you would be interested in what our boys are doing. Oh, my son boot camp job is setting up and taking down the ironing equipment so he gets up earlier.

“Well, since you ask me a lot of question about life here I will take you through an average day.
0500 or 0400- wake up and put ironing equipment away.
0450 or 0550-get back in Rack.
0600- Petty Officer comes in yelling. We usually end up ITing for about 10 minutes
0610-We are timed making our bunks and making them right.
0630-go to PT
0730-Eat chow.
0800-Study time
0900-clean clean clean
1100-“Training time”
1130-Chow
1215-class of some kind
1430-Hygiene (shower)
1450-clean clean clean-do laundry
1700 Chow
1745 Laundry, cleaning
2100 set up ironing boards, get stuff ready, fold clothes, brush teeth, shave
2200-get in racks for sleep, Taps is either 2100 or 2200. reveille is usually 0500 or 0600.”

Then he talks about what they wear:

“One a daily basis I wear combat boots, w/black socks, tight whiteys, digital blue camo uniform with dark blue undershirt. I also just got a high and tight and have dog tags. I have received all the uniforms and they are as follows- NWUS-Blue camos, Nsu-black slacks, tan shirt, Garrison cap, coveralls, dress whites, dress blues. I will be graduation in the blues. I also have a PT uniform. For coats I have a rain coat, a parka and a peacoat.”

My son likes to write but his handwriting is not the best so I might have not copied this perfectly.
This is sooooo much more than my son has told me. Thx for posting it!
More than most of us have gotten I believe! thank you so much for posting, helps us all feel like we're a little closer to our SR's!!! I promise to post any info I get that I can pass on to the group - IF I ever get a letter! :-)

He said that they will move to there A schools or Sub school on wed after graduatiion. I asked him how the marching was coming along. He said they are a lot better now. They had Marlins pike last week. said that there group had the best team work of all the groups. There are doing some weapons training this week. He did say that when it comes to battle stations that they only have one shot at it. Its the Wed. before fri. graduation. But he felt like they should do ok. Congrats to Eric!
