While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son left on Sept 20th and I haven't heard anything from him. I received his BOX a week after he left and that was the hardest thing. It has been almost 3 weeks now and I haven't received a phone call or a letter. But I have been writing him everyday. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't write him. I keep alittle journal everyday of things that go on. I can't wait to get a letter from him telling me how things are going I miss him dearly !!

Leslie, ditto to all of the above! A little depressed when I read this morning about some who have received calls b/c their recruit's division was being rewarded -- sure hope MY sailor's division is doing ok! I know the first three weeks are the most intense but I just want to know how he is.

This is brutal for the Mom's. Don't be depressed about the phone call. It is highly unusual for them to be allow to call so early in their training. If you have not heard anything, that means that everything is happening the way it is supposed to happen.

Well I am really new to this, my son just shipped out and you all have a few weeks on me. Last night I could not sleep, and I am being told that I should set up something like this for the moms who had sons and daughters that shipped out yesterday. I kept telling myself I was going to be alright but I am on an emotional rollercoaster. I did not sleep at all last night wondering what he was going through and how he was going to handle the getting up early every morning. My son shocked me with this decision and made me promise to come to this site to talk to some of the other mothers.

Oh, Honeybrown. This will be so hard on you but you will be so proud of your son when you see him graduate from boot camp.. It's hard, but you have to know this is the best thing for him. We are all going through the same thing and you will find the people here will be your best support. We will all be there for you and you will be there for us. We are all on a rollercoaster, but all of us know that for our sailors, this is the best thing for them. My son left two weeks ago, haven't heard from him and I have written him 10 letters. But that's okay cause I know he is in a better place than he was before.

Honeybrown Just hang there...you'll get your form letter (USPS) and the "kid in a box" (FedEx) in a couple of weeks. You should be able to get the temporary address from the recruiter 72 hours after your rct left.

I received a letter from him today telling me the ship and division with the mailing address. He is on ship 9 divi010 his proposed graduation date is 12/03/10 providing nothing happens. He simply said mom I am good you can write me now LOL.

Thank you . I have to get accustomed to this his girlfriend said she is going to come over and we will go through all the emails together. You know these kids know all about these computers and things. My son use to be the one doing this for me. I tried to read the comments but must be doing something wrong. I will get the hang of it. Thank you for lifting my spirits.God bless

Hi Honeybrown, My daughter also left on 10-5 and I feel the same way. I think about her ALL the time and wake up often wondering about her. I too was on an emotional rollercoaster, but I have to remind myself that she will be safe and they wont let anything happen to them. They will get through it and in a few weeks we will have new and improved children!!! Hang in there and God Bless our recruits!!

Where did she leave from? Have you heard anything from her at all? I think I am more of a mess than he was and his girlfriend is just miserable, poor thing I feel so bad for her, she says he is the only friend she has.

my sister is ship 11 div 001....anyone get a personal letter from there recruit yet....i pace the mail box everyday and still nothing!!!
