Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a fabulous Friday.
Kama sent me a long letter. She sounds great! Can't wait for her best EVER birthday present!
She said her pics were take on 27 Sept 10. (I am still getting used to Navy dates) She said div 948 should get calls home on the 13th in the afternoon. I can't wait to hear her voice. I have already alerted my students that it is very likely that they will have a blubbering teacher on Wednesday afternoon.
Kama said I should have received information on a parent’s dinner on base on Thursday the 14th. I have not received anything about this and she did not know the specifics.
Did anyone get information about a parent dinner on base Thursday?
Also she said she has a friend with a mom on this site her friends name is Kerryn.
The pics are great on the web site and I have spent several hours AGAIN this week looking for a pic with Kama but it is sooo hard. I have even copied and pasted into PowerPoint so I can zoom in and move around until the pixels get to big.
I am really counting down now! Hope to meet some of you at PIR. :-)
I haven't heard anything about a Parents Dinner...Oh, Ashley let me know in this weeks letter that 948 has 8 flags now!! I just can't wait for her phone call, I miss her so much.

Ursula, I went to a Yankee Candle store about 55 miles from here and I seen the candle you got...I didn't buy one though because I thought it was too big and too expensive. I got a smaller navy blue candle instead. I did puchase the nutcracker!! I just love him.

I hope all of you are coming to Anastasia's for the meet and greet. I am staying at the Springhill Suites which I think is close to there. I won't have a car until the next day. When I get there Thursday I am gonna make a junk food run for my daughter. At least a couple of Peanutbutter Cups and a couple of Mountain Dew's...lol

HOOYAH TO DIVISIONS 341 & 342!!
They do make a DVD of the ceremony. I think the info was in their picture package. I am sure that you can order one at the NEX while you are there.
They do make a DVD. It's $29 and you can order from NEX. Look in the "Families FAQ" from the RTC website at http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/faq_family.asp
scroll to "Can I get a video..." It says Video, but it's a DVD. You can call and order at 847-578-6205 M-F.

Parents Dinner - Saw it somewhere that you had to RSVP, but I am looking for it again. $9.95 per person, only have limited seats... I think it was on their FB page. I asked on the FB...waiting for the reply...
Did you find this parent's dinner item?
Not yet. Never had it take this long for RTC to responD.I'll try the PAO via email. I find the Atlanta one all over the place, and I know I got something about it but for the life of me, my memory is getting bad and can't rememeber where I saw it. Will get back to you...
PAO said "No Dinner" or other events prior to PIR due to base being restricted. Dinner info had to be the one in Atlanta...
If anyone is getting sick, here is a site with some very helful info. I was sick for two weeks and found this> after using the salt water and saline treatments I fnally started to get better. Hope it helps anyone who is stricken with cold or flu...now is NOT a good time to get sick. Remember to use hand cleaners that kill germs, wash hands often and by golly...wear a mask in public if you have to....lol!
