Lori, I'm so glad you had a great time! I love Philly Cheese steaks too!! I am also starting to try to get in shape and hope to have 15 - 20 lbs by PIR. Now that my 10 year old is taller than me, I am now the shortest and fattest one in the family and I don't like that a bit!! Susan
Lori-sounds like you had a great time. We were in Philly a few years ago when our "East coast daughter" got married in her hubbies church there. She jokes that they both had to come to CA to meet and get married. She's from New Jersey, so it's funny. We are her surrogate family for holidays when she can't fly home. ANYWAY...I loved Philadelphia. Walking through all buildings where history was made and the OLD neighborhoods was really cool!!

I kept paying Curves as I was SO sure I would make it back, and I did...it just took a while. I too am trying to lose some weight for PIR. Just got married 4 1/2 years ago and my hubby is a great cook! Too good. It has taken its toll on me.

AND I posted some pictures of Ian and us at his high school graduation June, 2010. I don't know why I can do that and not get my profile picture on.
Betsy, Thats how we will keep our minds off of being sad. Every time we miss our boys we will go walk instead of eating :) Susan
Ha ha I love it!! Susan
Hello group, im leaving for bootcamp on the 27th. Im wondering how bootcamp will change how i am today. Most people say that i'll change and be mean, and things like that. Im a very nice guy now and thats why my girlfriend and parents love me. If anyone has any stories or things to share about the loved one changing, id like to hear it. :)
Haha, probably not. Thanks for the reassuring.
NavyABE, That is the silliest thing I have ever heard. You have made a very mature decision to join the Navy. When you are done with BC you will be in great shape and you will be ready to take on the world :) My son is super nice too and I expect that he will be the same when he gets done. You will be fine!! Susan
NavyABE - what I think your response to "most people " should be that BC and the Navy will make me stronger mentally and emotionally, I will become a more disciplined and responsible person. My Son in leaving on the 26th - so I do not have a personel story to tell you, But just like everything else in life, you make the best of any given situation. Know your General Orders, Navy Chain of Command, as well as the Navy Core Values, continue your PT and I know you will do fine. Fair Winds and Following Seas..
wow. just realized this weekend comen up will be my last FULL weekend before i leave! i know
you moms are excited as well as nervous as i am.

I practiced aiming a gun, takin it apart and puttin it back together and such today with my dad, just not shooting it. Friday, hes takin me to a shooting range to practice, also my mom is takin me to lunch and shopping for an address book and a small bible. and were gonna go see a movie. :(

its weird that life as i know it will be change forever when i set foot in GL.
im very excited for this change though :)

i hope all you ladies are haven a wonderful week, and spending LOTS of quality time with your Future Sailors :)

NavyGirl...try to find a Sailors Bible. You can probably find it at a Barnes and Noble or the like or a Bible Book store...you can just write addresses and phone #'s down and put them in a plain, black wallet (some carry a mans wallet)
And also..good luck to you. Do you have any last minute questions that you haven't been able to find the answer to here?
nope, i think i got every possible question answered, and all thats left is facing the fear of the unknown.. i dont think you can ever be COMPLETELY prepared for bootcamp. :) prayer is all i need :) thank you very much though.
