Welcome to Your Division!  I hope you will be able to attend the Meet and Greet.  Just to make it fun I hope you will take a little time and design a simple flag to represent your division at the Meet and Greet that will be used to designate your divisional table.  While we will all meet together as a PIR group it will help you find each other as a division as well!  Show your creativity!!   Each division will have some individual issues because each division will be unique.  I hope you find this discussion helpful and fun!!

Received my second letter from my son today. It was totally unexpected, especially on a Tuesday after the Mail Holiday. I was so excited. He sounds good, just really, really tired. He also wants letters and parts of the newspaper sent to him. He even laughed in the letter, because he never read the newspaper...never really had to with the internet and sports channels. Now he thrives on it!! These are the small parts of the service I love. These kids are learning they Can survive with little and actually appreciate the simpler things in life.
He said his division is doing better, passing their tests. So, all in all he sounded good, just tired. He did say it is more of the emotional stamina it takes more than anything. He sometimes gets tired when on watch and says he really got exhausted. He only eats salads with lots of dressing. He does not like the other food, except for the cookie at dinner.
I also write everyday. I am giving him an official count down and inspiring words to let him know we are almost there. His biggest request was for me to bring his contacts to PIR. He said the glasses hurt, he can't stand them and that was the main thing he is asking for. He states over and over how much he can't wait to see us, to hug us. I know he really misses us as much as we miss him, so that is why I am always positive with him.
Anyway, was just so grateful for another letter. I think I will get more letters than phone calls, but that's okay too!
Congrats. Those calls and letters keep them going but they keep US going too!!
You can send him his contacts so that he has them for PIR....just in case he doesn't realize that...
Lynne,
I just wanted to thank you for all the time and energy you devote to this website. I have been thinking about you and your health and have been praying for you. You are the Angel of "Special Messages" the words that every mom needs to hear from someone who is able to share her knowledge and experience with all of us while we are going through all of this. Just wanted to let you know, even though I have not met you, I think of you through the day and I hope I will be able to meet you soon. Hopefully at M&G. I am still trying to figure out if I will be able to attend.
I got 2 letters in the mail today! i'm actually loving the letter writing ... a lil more personal than txts and email .. kinda romatic for me HA HA He's still doing good. can't wait for PIR says he's ready to get out of there! I'm so excited everyone on here is getting letter and calls ... makes this process a WHOLE lot easier!
Is he writing in beautiful all cap print like my daughter. It must be taking hours for her to be so precise it's hysterical. And, yes, in this day and age of texting actually getting hand-written letters is incredibly nice!
I can't believe how neat my son's handwriting is. It seems funny that he uses vocabulary words I didn't hear him say at home! I wonder if they stand over them when they write, just to make sure it looks good...just like when I was in 3rd grade.
Angelmarie, I had my second phone call from my son on Sunday. I was ecstatic.Things seem to be going well from him. Have you heard anything from your husband, regarding battlestations or anything as far as where they are in the process. I know my son told me they completed sharpshooting. I know other "ships" are getting BS dates and I just wondered if you have heard anything. Thanks, I'm still waiting for a letter hopefully this week. I am going to send his contacts, they said I could send one weeks supply for his graduation. Hope all is going well with all of you out there.
If you all get a BattleStaitons date for 361 (would be 362's also--brother division), please post on the main board and I will add it to the BattleStations schedule discussion. Thanks!
Diannep, I'll be happy to do that. I am waiting to hear also. I received third letter from my son today. It was dated Oct. 14th and he said they would be doing firefighting and gas chamber this week. He seemed a little nervous, but he is doing well passing all inspections and tests thus far.
That's great, kylesmomkaren! So glad that he is doing so well.
