For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Jeffsmom, that is great news! So cool he gets to design the flag! Guess he is not in my son's div since his PIR is 11/12-- ar least for now. He called on Wed. to say he hurt his knee and has also been a little sick. On the other hand, they let him off from wisdom teeth so that is good. I love hearing positive reports like yours :).

Hello, my son left 9/21 too. We miss him terribly. I know what you mean they need to do something and sometime college isnt for everyone. How is your son doing does he like it. I believe our sons are together. Ship 11 div 370. Graduation couldnt come in any sooner.

Hi, joyfuljoy! I am actually hoping he may call today, last time was on a Wednesday. Last we heard (he called my husband's cell, so this is secondhand) he had been sick and hurt his knee, so he was concerned he might not grad on 11/12 as planned, but i guess no news is good news. What does your son say about their div.? Dennis also mentioned some disciplinary extra PT they were doing! I just wish I could hear from him this week, to know whether to buy the plane tickets. etc. He said he misses home cooking, and the high point of his week was icecream on Sunday! He will (Lord willing) be at A school within a couple of hours from us at Thanksgiving, and I told my husband we are definitely taking a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner up there and getting a suite with a kitchen so we can have a nice dinner--and maybe other sailors who are far from home could come, too. Any news you have to share about ship 11 div 370?

Received a VERY short letter from my son today Ship 11 Division 370. He did not mention anything at all about his division but did say he was fine and loved us. I guess that is what matters but would love to hear more about what is going on with his division. If any of you happen to talk to your son or get a letter with info please pass on any info.

Your post could be my post, except that we live in Alabama, and my son made the decision to enlist after 2 years of college, Likewise, he intends to finish his degree while on active duty. He had looked seriously at other branches, and even begun the process in a couple of instances. We have discovered that, at least in our part of the country, the Navy took his background and educational goals very seriously. The recruiters have worked diligently to see that the MEPS process and DEP period go as smoothly as possible. To say I am proud and happy would be an understatement. I am glad to find this online community to help us all through the waiting process. Boot camp this summer, I understand.

Can you believe that 8 weeks is over? Graduation was wonderful! I am so proud of all the recruits! They are now sailors. My son heads to Groton, Ct on Tuesday. Where do your sailors go?
