The Navy is sending Meaghan home and I'm very sad :( Apparently she's had another nosebleed and they've diagnosed her with anemia, so she'll be home in two weeks. They told her once she was home with doctors records saying it was resolved she could go back but I'm not sure what she will do. I have a feeling she might decide to move forward with her prior plan and start nursing school for the Spring semester.
Wow. So sorry, Sunny. I hope Meaghan is not too disappointed. That must be really hard to be sent home in the middle of training. I wish you both the best, no matter what Meaghan decides to do.
aaawwww... that's terrible . I wish her the best... maybe this is a sign that God has other plans for her. Nursing is an awsome career choice as well.
So sorry! She must be disappointed. At least she has another plan.
Sunny....i'm so sorry...
have you talked to Meg?
Thanks for the kind words everyone! I get to talk to Meaghan daily. She's waiting for a medical follow-up at this point and hasn't had a legal consult yet, but both should be sometime this week. She's upbeat, and says ship 5 is a lot more laid back than other ships. They can sleep till 0830 instead of 0430 LOL! And, she says she can take a snickers bar from the desert tray now and not get yelled out. She can also purchase computer time. Still waiting to hear when she's coming home, but she's mentally prepaired to start another chapter and go to nursing school so she's not in the "oh no, what am I going to do now" mode. She wants to handle the legal and medical stuff on her own and doesn't want to sign a waiver for me to become involved and help her out, so she's definately matured in the few weeks that she's been there. I'll pop on every now and again to provide updates, but best wishes to all of your recruits!!
So yesterday I finally received a letter from my son John. It was kind of bitter sweet. I was so excited to hear from him and at the same time it sunk in how much I missed him. It was good to hear how well he was doing and how his new life suits him. He will be going to school for Seabees not sure where yet.
I did last night!!!! It was so good to talk to her. She seems to be doing very well. It was more than 10 minutes too!
Kali said she thought she was a grad n go too. Is yours going to SC to NUKE school too?
Jess is supposed to be going to Charleston... but i think it is still up in air... I wish they would tell me something... this is driving me crazy! I hope your sons plans dont change... I'm in KY so where ever she goes...its going to be hard for me to visit. Does A school last for 18 months or so for everyone?
I got another letter today! My niece drew a map of their compartment, showing where her bunk is, where some of her friends' bunks are, where the RDC office and the watch deck are. She sounded a lot better in this letter than the last one, though she also said that she misses life. Not surprising since it seems kind of like jail in there. Her letter seemed to indicate that she hadn't gotten any of my (many) letters yet. That's sad, since I know she would like to hear from us and I've been sending her lots of letters and cards and pictures. Sounds like many of you got calls today. That's great! Maybe we'll hear from her soon too.
I'm here sbsmargo! What's up?
