Phoebe...that is very sweet...Thank you...we have all done a great job with these kids no matter what road we took getting here, they have all made a very honorable decision to serve their country in the world's greatest NAVY, God Bless all of them....:o)
RAOC.....
Phoebe - a cute, funny comment and the other; well, RAOC came over me. Very sweet to say to us. Thank you and XXOO. Lori
So sweet Phoebe. Thank you :))))) Susan
Thanks you ladies for your thoughts and prayers. I too went to try to find a "Goodbye,Good Luck" card today and stood in the aisle crying. I have spent the week on an emotional roller coaster switching between "Screw you, you ungrateful bastard" to "Why is he doing this to me? What did I do wrong?" I went and purchased the book "The power of praying for your adult children". I was on another website that recommended a book called "Honor, Courage, and Committment", it is supposed to be a day by day guide of what our recruits will be going through while in bootcamp. The reviews I read were very good. Has anyone read it?
oh I'm in the process of reading Honor, Courage and Commitment, it is awesome, it has helped settle my nerves about boot camp.
Mine came in today but since I had such a strong reaction to "When the Eagle Invades the Nest" I decided I better wait until after Monday to read it! Susan
Jordansmom,

I agree with Betsy, I have gone through similar episodes with my adult children from 17 to 20. Then one day they grow up and look around. All of sudden it is okay to talk to Mom again and become friends. Someone gave me advice when Jen was at college and we were really going at it. They told me not to argue with her anymore just let her know your there for her. (I was having trouble letting her make her own mistakes as an adult, I had to let go). My son also the same. Just let him know you will always be there for him. Yes basic does make them think about alot of things.

Phoebe, What a nice thing to say. Thank you. Love to you too and we will see you Tuesday. Kathy
Hi to all, I was just at the Boot Camp Group and someone mentioned watches. Without his cell phone my son will never know what time it is. I mentioned it to him and he is getting an inexpensive, black or dark watch tomorrow. He actually said, wow, thank you mom. I didn't think of that. Don't you love it? Talk to you later. Kathy
Oh...they can have watches??? Susan
I was looking on there list of what they can take, to make sure Jen didn't need anything and I saw a watch listed. So I asked her if she wanted one and would wear it(lol). We went out yesterday and got a black waterproof one.
