Betsy, Thanks so much for the good wishes!! Busy but I have had a blast today. All that I can do tonight is done until tomorrow AM. Got the cake at Sam's Club..thank goodness for this site, cuz it was no where else I called. My dad got it for me as he is a member...not me. Found a darling HUGE flag balloon with R,W, &B balloons for a bouquet!! Overnight casserole in the fridge waiting for the morning and Ian requested french toast!! made with the fat bread. Sausage, bacon, and some fruit thrown in so we can pretend we are being healthy. :-)

I love it "The Basket Club". What time do we want to meet on Monday? I am east coast and probably won't be able to get on until about 9pm. My husband is out of town and that is my youngest daughters bedtime. Susan
Do we want to shoot for 9:30 EST? It is 6:30 for us on PST, but I am ok with it...what about others on the West coast? A little early, but if we go TOO late, it will be really late for those on the East coast. logistics are tough. LOL Nancy
Works for me. Susan
Thanks so much for the info about the pictures. Thats something that I hadn't even thought about and I'm sure if I left it to my son he would say he doesn't need pictures or he would order the bare minimum.
Betsy, It sounds like you are going to have a very happy day today. Family and food makes good company. I was relieved last night when Brandon finally said I cannot wait to get to boot camp. He said he wanted to be there allready. I guess the waiting can be harder than the unknown. My husband is in Houston today moving my middle son into another apartment. My son James is in his last year of law school there. My husband is going to try to get back tonight but if he can't He already said his goodbyes to Brandon. Even though I hate him to drive at night 4 hours I will miss him not being with me tomorrow when I drop Brandon off. Hopefully he will get here early in the morning. Today Brandon and I are going shopping for the little things we haven't got yet. prayer card, phone card, small metal and chain. I also need some laminating material for the phone numbers. I wrote a letter to him to put in his psalm book. I am sure he will find it as soon as he opens it and probably before he even gets to BC. I also printed pictures of our pets on the back of it. 2 cats and a bird. lol. Oh, yes, we are going to church at 5:30 today. The last time for a while. Also I am glad you like the idea of "The Basket Club". I have seen others like "surviving insanity". lol. Have a wonderful and blessed day and enjoy your family. Hugs. Kathy
Betsy, I meant to ask you how you make a meatloaf in a crockpot. That sounds so good. Also, Brandon got a beautiful silver metal and chain today. It is less than an inch and is St Michael on the front and US Navy on the back. It made me so happy to see how excited he was about it. Also my husband is on his way home. Thank you Lord. I knew he would make it back home before Brandon left. It is quiet around here and just enjoying the evening. Church will be tomorrow at 8:00 am since we missed today. Kathy
Kathy, the medal sounds absolutely beautiful. Where did you get it? So happy to hear that your hubby is going to be with you tomorrow. Relax in the quiet, have a good time at church tomorrow, and enjoy your day.
Nancy
Kathy,

I'm so happy for you, that you husband will be home for you. YAY!!!!!! I bought Adam the St. Michael's metal about 4 months ago at a church in Santa Fe. There was a priest touring the church at the time and he blessed it for me too. I'm going to try and sneak it in his book of Psalms.

The meatloaf is pretty basic. I just mix 2 lb. ground beef, chopped onion, one envelope of dry onion soup mix, about 1/2 cup ketchup, an egg, about 1/2 cup dry oatmeal and some spices. I usually just sprinkler on some onion powder and garlic powder. Just mold it into your loaf and cover it with more ketchup. I cook it about 6 hours on low. It's really moist and everyone here loves it.

That meatloaf recipe sounds good, I will have to try that sometime. I will be fixing Jen's request of Stuffed cabbage today. She doesn't leave until tuesday for Meps. We have had a pretty full weekend, we traded in her car along with mine yesterday for one car (downsizing lol). Then we took her out to the Bonefish grill (one of her favorites) and had a birthday/going away for her last night. Her birthday is Nov 1. She made a comment that in a week she could order a drink and we laughed and said no sweety in 8 weeks you can order that drink lol.

Donna
Donna,

Awww, poor Jen. She will be so busy on her birthday, that she might even forget that it is her birthday. lol Btw, I have a daughter, who's birthday is that day too. :)

Your family will be in my prayers on Tuesday. ((hugs))

Betsy
Wow!! That sounds like a ton of fun... Scarowinds...at first I thought it was a typo. :-) You are right, they need their time.. What is Walk for Life for? We do the Arthritis Walk as Ian's older brother has a serious form of Arthritis. Yeah, I am fixing Ian's food request too. Interesting how as moms we want to do the "comfort" things for them, and so nice that they actually still want us to make stuff for them!! We all sound like we are doing the same things...keeping it as normal as possible and spending family time together.
Have great days tomorrow!!
Nancy
