While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Need Info...Orders after BESS???
My husband graduated BESS Oct. 8th, and we are still waiting for his orders...we really want to move up there, it's been about 5 months since he has been gone. Is anyone else in this situation....any other navy wives waiting for orders for this class? Please let me know anything, I am soooo worried and miss him terribly..Thank you.

My husband graduated BESS Oct 8th as well, and got a Paternity Leave starting Oct 9 - 21st.. so he just started BMS (got behind from the leave). I know that when they complete BMS, they find out where they'll be stationed.
My baby boy & I live in Florida and want more than ANYTHING to be up in CT!!!! I feel you! -

Hey! Congrats on the Paternity Leave, I was just talking to my hubby about that today. I remember you guys from the airport, we were at the same airport in IL when they were flying out to CT after basic:) Congratulations on your new baby!! You were still pregnant at that time, which is why I remembered you, since I had a pretty young baby myself..
My husband says he will have school in CT, but we are just waiting on accompanied orders...which are 342's. I'm so glad he got the leave though:) Maybe we'll see each other in CT... well, me and my hubby just figured out how to skype, it's free for the video chat, you guys should do it..let me know if you need help:)

Oh yeah!!! I remember! I remember thinking how hard that must have been on you guys while he was in bootcamp because your little one was so little!
What a coincidence thought. Well, sense my husband is behind in his schooling after BESS (BMS), we won't find out where we'll be stationed until that school is over - in 3 weeks.
What is your husband's job? Yeah - I'm planning to go to CT soon. Do you know if Gateway is a better choice than the Navy Lodge? I've stayed at the Navy Lodge before (in September).
Yeah - we use Skype everyday - loveeee it! Thank you!! -

It was rough...but we made it:) And, those two days were sooo great, it was like heaven:)
Yeah, hopefully you will get your orders asap after he graduates though, ours have been delayed, they are telling him it's because this is the end of the fiscal year....
My hubby is going to be a Sonar Tech..his school is supposed to be a year in Groton.
And, I have only been to CT once, and we stayed at the Navy Lodge, it's 75 a night and much fancier than the IL one, we stayed there for basic graduation... never stayed at the Gateway?? I would post a question on here I'm sure you would get some good feedback.

Hello My name is Tammy my Son is Graduating from Boot Camp on Nov 5th. He is enlisted as SECF and is going to Groton Ct. Can Someone explain what happens after boot camp. I mean how long is one school and how long is the other. I am all new to this. Hoping to meet great friends to help with this Navy thing.. the Group for Graduation was great I don't think it could have went any easier. They were truly a Blessing. Thank you All

If he is supposed to go to Groton, then he will most likely graudate, get a day or two (sometimes the whole weekend). In the case of my husband, he graduated on a Friday and they flew him out to CT early the next morning. We also didn't find out what was going on until the day he graduated. Although, Great Lakes, IL has some really nice areas near by, I would recommend checking out Lake Bluff, which is very close and has some neat restaurants, shops and an actual Lake beach which you could swim at ..although I wouldn't recommend it in the winter:)
After that, if he is supposed to be on submarines at all - he will be in BESS, which is Basic Enlisted Submarine School, for 2 months. BESS is in Groton. Then on to more technical training....this is all I know so far.
