OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Ladies,
I just dropped my TJ off to the recruiter to be shuttled to MEPS this morning. I heald it together well. I didn't want his last memory of me to be me standing there crying, so I heald it all in for him, and it felt pretty darn good!!! He smiled and waved so proudly as I drove off. What a great young man I have raised!!!! Of course I did come home and gather his fuzzy Navy blanket from his bed and curl up in the recliner for a bit, but still no tears. I know I have a ROAC comming but just thought I would share.
I love reading all of your postings so thanks for being here..

Hang in their Stacey, my Taylor leaves tomorrow as well, right now I have him at home but soon enough we will start our journey to the recruiter and hotel. Is TJ leaving from Tampa?

TJ is leaving out of Jacksonville. Ironically he is on a bus to the MEPS with one of his best friends that wants to join the Marines. He is going to take the ASVAB test, so I was so happy to hear he at least had someone to keep him company on the ride. Maybe TJ can talk him into the Navy on the way, lol. Though we have already tried.
My thoughts are with you Elizabeth. maybe they will meet in Great lakes. -

Stacey, I am so glad you were that strong for TJ - - I didn't want to make it harder on him either by crying -- I wore sunglasses and I think that hid the tears - - but I was much, much stronger than I thought I was going to be dropping him off to the recruiter. Very tough thing to do. I guess we will both be waiting for our phone calls tonight - - I don't know if I want to hear his voice or if I should let his father talk to him. I am afraid I will hear something in his voice that will upset me. We will see - - apparently, I have a lot of time to make up my mind on this because his flight to Chicago from Philly is delayed because of the wind they are having in Chicago. Now, I am worried about his flying safely out to Chicago. Sorry for going on and on. I just really wanted to applaud you for your stoicism when dropping ur son off. Maureen, I am glad to know I am not the only one that goes"on and on" at times, lol. I know how you feel about the phone call. I have an extra day though he stays the night in a hotel tonight after reswearing in at MEPS and he leaves tommorow morning to fly to Chicago. So I will get to talk to him tonight and prob cry then, lol.
I will pray for a safe flight for bothour sons and that we don't cry too hard.

Maureen, Congratulations for making it this far. I am so proud of our children and us. Brandon didn't get there until 10:00 last night and I will ask him if it was because of the weather. Hugs and God Bless You. I look forward to you hearing from your son. I didn't give my husband a chance to talk. Besides he went to bed before I got the call. lol. Sorry, I just saw that in your post.
