Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

None of us have Darlin.... we are all in the same boat...no pun intended...talked to a Mom who has been thru it 2x and she said they usually write on Sundays so Thursdays are usually "lettter days" I guess give or take depending on where you live...I know that THIS Thursday I will be breaking the sound barrier getting home to see if there is a letter!!!

I'm in Indiana. Since I'm fairly close to BC, I'm hopeful for Wednesday. I'll probably cry (again) if I don't hear from him this week.

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted you to know if you go to Facebook and type in US Navy Training Command you get some good info about graduation and boot camp.
I recently found a little site that shared 'funny letter sentences' from recruits about boot camp experiences... shared by moms and it had me cracking up. Anything to help get thru these days, right? -

There is a forum on this site as well... I think it's called Top 10 Lines from Boot Camp... or somthing similar. It' has over 80 pages of funny 1 liners. I copy and pasted some in a letter to my son and asked him to check off the statements he agrees with and send the letter back to me.. I thought it would funny for him to read and he wouldn't have to write much in return. I'll let you know if I ever get it back from him.

Just a note...I read that some of our recruits are being singled out in boot camp by too much info being shared on this site.
I went to my profile and made everything as private as possible. Guess we need to be careful what we share. Don't intend to scare you ...we just need to think about what we share. -

TRea's Mom here in Indiana. I received a letter today from my son!!!! I am so excited that he's doing well. Although he admits to some moments of doubt, he also said he's excited about graduation and seeing the family again. He said his group, SHIP 09 DIV 015, is on a "condensed schedule". Any idea what that means?

I have been trying to find out but, no respnse to question yet...congrats for your letter...hope we get one soon.
Condensed schedule sounds more intense in a shorter time...doesn't it!? -

I called the recruiter and he says that ship 09 div 015 is actually set to graduate on 12-7 but they are on an accelerated schedule so they can graduate on 12-3. I asked him what day to go by and he said the one on the form letter. I am really hoping that it doesnt change!

You are so lucky TRea's Mom. I can't wait for my son's letter. Yes, my son wrote on his form letter and said that they are a RUSH division. I'm not sure how that is (says they have 6.5 weeks of training instead of 8).
