~Shipping~

Unfortuantley the Post Office site requires the Credit Card address to match the shipping "FROM" address!

So all the work that Pat:) and I have done with the site over the past 3 days is a Wash!

Does anyone have any advice on HOW we are going to SHIP boxes.

At this time Colorado and Illinois both have boxes ready to ship and it isn't an option for Molly nor I to fly to either one of those states and go to the Post Office with Chris and Pat!!...I know it would be fun but NOT doable!

these are some guidelines:

~Shipping MUST BE PAID for by Molly's Adopt a Sailor Bank Account

~We CANNOT, write anyone a check for shipping!

~NO checks can be issued to anyone personally!

~all funds for shipping MUST come from Adopt A Sailor

(get the idea?)

The post office has suggested "Shipping Assistant" or a 3rd Party!

That would involve, possibly paying MORE for shipping, is that an option, YES, quite possibly!

Does anyone know of a 3rd party that MAS can work with?

Ok let the HASHING begin Girls!

We truly need all Moms to help, any ideas?

Would a cashiers check made out to the USPS work? Also, I think it depends on your post office. Mine would accept it just because they know me and I give them SOOOOO much business. I understand their thinking cuz not everyone is honest. I would ask at the post office that you normally use, what they would do and if they would accept the check. My USPS looks forward to me mailing out my boxes because they say that the more people do online and have picked up, the less they need the services of the post office and with budget cuts, they don't want to take the risk of closing.

Do you have a contact with Pepsi that could possibly give some input on what could be done?
This is a big loop we are trying to jump thru. IS there any any reason why Molly's can't set up an acc't with the USPS, whereby they bill Molly's Adopt a Sailor for the postage, then when the bill comes in, it gets paid thru Molly's. Fezex does this, UPS does this.
actually I like Marcy's Idea about the money order better. Good thinking ladies. and you have to show a DL anyhow, This could work..
Nitabee ---------- that is EXACTLY what I thought why in the heck cant we have a USPS account and just deposit money into it ??
ok money order will not work ---------- even if its written to USPS
money order is not a good trail for the money ---it is a good way for the reciever but not the sender.
they do not come (pre-printed)
I will however see about cashiers check to the post office.

can a few people start looking into 3rd party --------- it may cost us more (monthly fee) BUT we need to have this availible for everyone. what happens if a mom does not have a relationship with the local PO --we cant say shucks well you dont get to do this then. fair is fair we need big ole chicago to little ole hollers bluff to be able to send love.
Keep working ladies ---your fricking awesome
When you all say a "3rd party" what do you mean by that? Sorry, it is early here in MA (for me anyway - my body is still on 2nd or 3rd shift time even after being out of work all this time!!)
NYPD a 3rd party would be something like
www.stamps.com

which you have to pay a monthly fee for!
Have a call into the bank!..OF course I call and he is with a customer, those DARN customers!!
Going to check on the trail that a Cashiers Check/Bank Check leaves???? fingers crossed!
NIta bee...we have an account with the PO....unfortunalty...the RETURN addy needs to match the billing addy!...We cannot let ex: me in Florida pay for pat's postage in IL!
I talked to my hubby about the USPS. He said he doesn't understand the problem, people come in with business checks all the time to pay for a company/college/etc.'s mail all the time. Do you think the problem is that they (USPS) are thinking of Molly's as a group of women and not a registered non-profit?? Would a copy of our non-profit status solve this problem?
Maybe a copy of Molly's 501(c)(3) could be sent to the ombudsman of the packing parties along with the other papers you send out?
I'm headed to our little PO to see what they say. Being a little PO they may be more willing to help find a solution, they can use the business to keep open!! Is that considered blackmail? hee hee If it is don't tell my NYPD cop son...
My hubby also said that UPS marketing is really working hard to get contracts with new companies. Their main office is in Atlanta, GA. Any Moms live in that area? I'm going to try and track down a number and contact name. He didn't suggest this, but anyone know anything about DHL and FedEx? In MA, you see DHL everywhere!
Good luck everyone.
PS Molly ~~ Haven't received any sort of confirmation of receipt from "Help Me, Hank" yet, but it is still early. I only sent my request for help last evening during the news. She probably wasn't even there then. But, I'll let you know since she will likely call you for an interview.
Thank you NYPD....I keep hearing about "business checks"....I will have to ask!
I am going to leave my 9-5 job today and head to my PO and have a Q & A session with them! Wish me luck! thanks ladies ♥
Ok can you set up an account with USPS online and get an account number like you do with Fed Ex or UPS then the shipper fills in the account number and Molly calls for a pick up at her house and Molly gets billed for it??? I could have sworn I read some where on N4M that Fed Ex or UPS will give a discount to a noted organization sending to the troops.

We may have no other choice but to go Fed Ex if USPS won't cooperate.........

OMG MOLLY I HAVE A GOOD IDEA!!!
I know you have a PayPal account for donations is it linked to you postage checking account? If not can you do that? I know when I send stuff to my daughter flat rate I go on USPS and print out the lable with postage paid for and pay from my paypal account. You give the packing party shipper the paypal password to do the shipping then change the password for safety reasons and do that for each sets of parties maybe having a shipping day so you only have to change the password once or twice a month....
Great idea Missmysailor...but...that is YOUR pay pal account..We have looked into PayPal, that would involve MAS transfering funds into "Pats" Pay Pal account the funds would NOT go directly to the USPS!!!! grrrrrrrr♥..KEEP THINKING!
