OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hotel In Groton

My husband is currently in school in Groton right now.. When I previously visited him this last September, I had stayed at the Navy Lodge.. I have also heard there's a "Gateway" hotel on the base? Could anyone give me some feedback of which hotel I should stay at this next time I visit in November? I'd like to hear about the Gateway one as well.

Ex: price differences, cleanliness, etc.

Sam- I stayed at the Gateway hotel on Base. We had three rooms, (my son was moving) the hotel is nice and clean, the rooms were only about fifty six dollars a night, there is a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine. Each room had a flat screen television. They even have a laundry area in which you can wash your clothes free, ( the really nice top loader washers and dryers. We had a very good experience their. I just kept drinking the coffee. Keurig type.

I have stayed in 2 Gateway hotels, one in Meridian and one in Great Lakes, I had a great experience with both, they were clean and cheaper then the Navy Lodge, plus I liked being on base. When my son was busy I could still walk around on base. Both of the Gateways I stayed in had a fridge, stove, and microwave.
