Hi, Just wanted to wish all moms with children leaving today lots of hugs, prayers, and best wishes. I am so proud of all the recruits and wish them all good luck and health as they begin boot camp. Kathy
Kathy, you are absolutely on point! We wish them all the very best on this important journey! Navy Moms helped me tremendously, not only with all the support, but with valuable information. When we were up at MEPS, I told all the 3 sets of parents that were there about the web site. Kim
I am a little bummed, I didn't get much sleep hopping I would get "the Call", and nothing. I am glad that I spoke with him when he landed in Chicago though. I can fugure 1 of 2 things- 1. either he forgot the #, though he has it in his wallet. or 2 figured it was late and he spoke with me earlier so he didn't need to call.
I have been briefing him on what will be happening per all of the advice and postings of info on this site. It has been so greeat knowing a little info on what he will be doing so I am not as nervous for him as I would be if we weren't informed about anything. Deffinatley helps keep my RAOC episodes to a minimum, lol.
Stacey
Stacey, does TJ have a girlfriend that he may have used his official call for? In any event, we know our children made it there safely and soundly. Hang in there! Kim
TJs mom sometimes the rcts just bypass the payphones, the lines are long, it is very hectic there, lots of instructions being yelled out, etc

He does have a calling card right?
Sometimes too they will get to call the next day or so...so don't give up hope!!
My son came in from Little Rock, AR and I know landed safe and sound, via a posting from his dad via Facebook. Just waiting for him to send the card to his dad, and his dad to post the info on FB so I can start sending him love through the mail.
Since my son went to MEPS Monday and was to be shipped out Tuesday, I started my string of letters with the first one Monday, then the second Tuesday and numbered them so when he sends the address, I can drop all of my letters in the mail. Kim
My husband went to the recruiter today and he gave him D's Division and address!!! Anyone else whose kids shipped out on Monday done it yet???? I am really hoping some of our kids are in the same division's. Susan
Susan, that is great. Let us know what his ship and division is so we can see if any of our kids are in the same one. Also you can change your name to N4MSusan (ship_div_) then everyone will know where he is. I called the recruiter but had to leave a voice mail. Hope I hear today too. Hugs. Kathy
Kathy - LOL, great idea! Done!! I'm so excited. I feel like everyday that passes is a day closer to seeing him again :)))) Lots of crying at work this morning (not sure what brought it on other than being sick and missing him) but I feel better now. I have been reading HCC and I am at battlestations right now so I am ready for him to be too :) I couldn't just read it one week at a time. I'm too curious. Susan
Hugs, Susan, I am so happy for you. I think that RAOC will hang around but maybe not as much. Your new name looks sooooo good. I am reading the book faster too. Not as fast as you though. lol. I am just worried now that the young people stay healthy as everything else will fall into place eventually. K
