I know it's rough when you have one date in mind and they "get taken" early. Many years ago my eldest son joined the marines and got called to go early....and I had surgery while he was gone. I was so sad, but everything worked out fine and he is going to be a daddy for the first time any day now. My youngest is in our group here. I am better prepared this time around but the waiting is still painful I sure do hope to get a letter or call soon. Thanks to all for your support.
Congratulations! Is this your first grandchild? You must be so proud to have both your boys in service to their country! At first I wasn't thrilled about the idea of my daughter joining, but she knew what she wanted and now, I can't tell you how proud I am!
My first grandbaby! Due in less than a week. I am so proud of my kids. I have only a daughter left at home. Good job, mom; hanging in there for your daughter. I am very proud of all of the kids. What they are doing is not easy but it sure is great!!!
Still no letter. I wait everyday hoping to get one. I just need to know he is alright, he's my baby, no more kids left at home. On Monday I sent a sase and paper in a card to him. Maybe I will hear something soon. I just cann't wait for Dec 3.
I know, I heard that moms were getting calls already and letters- I am hoping my daughter can find a stamp and write! In my last letter I sent her a sheet of stamps. Or it could be they are just too busy. I wonder how their ship is doing? She is the last to leave for me also, so its lonely! I have been carrying htis phone around with me everywhere, since its week 3 ( I think) and the rumor is that that she gets a call soon! If I have to leave my phone somewhere, I always run to see if I missed any calls, its like pls let me not have missed her call!
Hello Ladies, hope this finds everyone well. I'm stilling waiting for something, a call, a letter, anything... I cursed my mail man yesterday, as I thought I would get a letter. HaHa. That's terrible, huh? I am constantly checking in here with everyone, to read post, and see if anyone has heard from their child. I feel that if I see on here someone has gotten a letter or phone call, I will feel better. Even if it's not from my child. I feel like I'm sitting on the edge of my seat for all of us. LOL. I keep expressing how helpful this site has been for me. I can't begin to imagine the feelings I would have without it. It has comforted me beyond anything I imagined. To know that these crazy emotions I have, that I'm not alone. And there are others going through the same things I can relate to. Thanks to all the "Invisible Shoulders". Prayers go out to all of you. Thank you
has anyone in our group gotten a phone call yet?
Haven't received any calls or letters yet.......so hoping this will be the week. I miss him so much, and just want to hear from him and know he is ok. I'm sure he is, but just not the same as hearing it from him. Sending another letter today. Starting to feel like I am just sending them out the the wind. LOL. Also, taking my phone EVERYWHERE. I believe we are getting into the weeks now where we're all gonna get those calls and letters, so stay strong everyone, 12/03/10 is fast approaching!
Thanks Delia, I was beginning to feel I was the only one left who hasn't heard from her child yet! I wonder if its bc our division got started later than the others? Hope so, bc I keep my phone with me everywhere!!
HOORAY! HOORAY! I GOT A LETTER TODAY. This is the first one other than that form letter. I was really starting to worry but, he sounds like everything is going great. I cann't believe how mature he sounds already.
Great news PAM! So excited for you. Now I'm going to be rushing home from work to check the mail! I haven't gotten any since form letter either. Thank you for sharing the news. It helps calm my own nerves a little about how they are all doing.
That is GREAT NEWS for all of us!!!!!!!! How is he? Did he say how they are all doing? I am starving for news on our division's kids!! I am so running home to get the mail!!
