Hi All, So far, I think I'm the only one on here, but I look forward to getting to know more ladies who have children in this division.
Hi Betsy. I'm with you! My son Joe is ship 04 div 020. So happy to get his info so I could send letters. Getting 'the box' was such a bummer that I wrote him every day since. Been spending my days trying to sift through the wealth of information out here and on the bootcamp site - it's a lot to learn. I really want to make flight arrangements early since the holidays are always so expensive to travel but 'the letter' sorta warns against it. Anyway, write when you have a moment.
Thanks,
Jessi
Hi Jessica, I'm so glad to "meet" you. I have sent 6 letters and 3 cards, since the day he left. Don't worry, you are not alone.

If's ok with you, I'm going to friend.
Besty - We aren't alone in our division groups anymore :) Yay us!! Susan
Becky, how do you 'friend'?
Jessi, sorry I just saw this. You go to that person's My Page and on the left side, there is a column and Add as friend is in the colunm, just click on it.

Betsy
Hi Jessi,
Would you recommend flying into O'Hare or to Milwaukee?
I just got news from my ex, who got the form. My son is in Div 20, too. Looking forward to chatting with y'all.
Jessi,

Driving around Chicago, at any time, of the day can be quite a challenge and confusing, if you aren't familiar with the city. O'Hare is a VERY busy airport. Have you flown through there before? If not, I would definetely recommend Milwaukee.

My husband's family lived an hour from Chicago and we flew in and out of there a lot years ago. Even given that, my husband decided to book us through Milwaukee this time. That's just our choice. The drive from Milwaukee is also an hour, but it is an easier drive, in our opinion.

Hi Sharon, Good to see you. I can't wait to get to know you.

Betsy
Sharon, I'm with Becky on the airport thing! We (Joe's girlfriend and myself) will be flying in to Milwaukee. I would deal with O'Hare if I *had* to but it ended up being a pretty easy choice since the flights are so much cheaper to MIL yay. I'm a little concerned about driving in winter again. Though I grew up in WI, i've been a southern girl for about 15 years. Soooo. if you see some lady in the ditch, kicking a rental car, between Milwaukee and Great Lakes, it's prolly me - - - would ya please stop?

Becky, Adam is your youngest?! That must be tough. I'm glad Joe is my oldest and I have other distractions running around. I wonder how much they'd like being called 'distractions'. Hmmm. Anyway, yes, I do hope they are friends. It's funny that he's this big 'ol macho 6+foot man and I worry about whether or not he's making friends, the same way I did in his first few weeks of kindergarten.

Got any other distractions? Like the 4 legged kind? I hope so. If not . . . write any time - I plan to be here every day. I've decided this site is my "i miss joey" therapy.
Well, I will pack a shovel in my van and we will dig everyone out. There is no way that ice, sleet or snow will keep us away :) Maybe I will tie my pink scarf to the handle so if any others drive by they will know it's us and stop to help :)))) lol Susan
I survived last winter in northern VA, when we had two major snowstorms that dumped more than two feet of snow on us, both times. We didn't see grass until almost April. I think Wisconsin/Illinois will be a piece of cake, because while they'll get that much snow, too, they DO have the infrastructure to deal with it, unlike us poor DC Metro folks.
