Welcome Kori-
We're glad you're here. my daughter Ashleigh left on Oct. 25 and she is my last baby at home. I'm doing surprisingly well though. How are you handling things?
Jeanne
Hello Jeanne,
Thank you for asking (: I'm handling things pretty well for the most part. The first week was definitely filled with crying but now I am trying to remain positive about this situation because the navy is such a positive road for my boyfriend to travel down. It's been especially difficult because we spend every day together. How old is your daughter Ashleigh? I imagine that was very difficult to have her leave your nest.

Kori
Hi Kori-
Ashleigh is going to be 19 in January. She graduated in June. She was excepted into NC Greensboro but found out you can't do xray and sonnegrams there. You have to go to an accredited school for that. The closest one is 45 min. away and they have a year waiting list. They only take 20 a year. So, that is why she joined the Navy. It actually hasn't been to bad without kids around. I think I'll make it! ha ha
what is your boyfriend going into?
Jeanne
Hi Kori! Yes, his PIR will be 12/17. Join our PIR12/17/10 group. We are glad you are here :) Susan
well, we won't be staying at the Residence Inn with you all. They quoted us $320 for 2 nights. They are all booked up except for 2 room suites. So we are staying at the Ramada Inn in Waukegan.
Jeanne
Wow! That is not good. I was planning to try to stay there when we went, but maybe not. Good to know ahead of time though
in the letter I got telling me about graduation, it had a brochure with about 10 hotels in the area.
So, you should be able to find something.
Jeanne
I'm not even going to try to make any plans until I get THE letter. It should only be a few days. And no matter where various people stay I'm sure the parents can go back and forth to see each other, visit, have a meet and greet, etc. between the hotels.
Wow Jeanne! They filled up quickly. Betsy is right, it seems like a pretty small place and we will plan a get together for all of us at a hotel. Susan
we are planning on leaving on Saturday morning. We have to drive from Illinois to NC and then drive to Fort Lauderdale Florida one week later for the Christmas holiday. I'm not looking forward to all that "car time",
Jeanne
Oh, wow! That is quite a trip, Jeanne. ((hugs))

Betsy
has anyone recieved a letter yet?
Jeanne
